Unfortunately, for us, staying at the Millthorpe Motel, turned in a Fawlty Towers sketch.
Travelling as a party of three adults we were initially pleasantly surprised to learn our room had been "upgraded" to a "Loft" Suite - with a king sized bed in the "loft" and sofa pullout downstairs.
Unfortunately, our stay ended up a disaster. Returning from dinner in Orange around 10pm: all we found in terms of bedding for the sofa "bed" was a soiled matress protector. Searching around, we then found the previously used (and dirty) sheets and bedding on the floor of the cupboard.
With reception closed; our room phone not working (to reception or an after hours number); a sofa too short to sleep on (and the faint smell of someone being sick); a wooden floor; no extra bedding and a cold night - the only option was to "share" the king sized bed - definitely not conducive to a party of three adults.
After a sleepless night - what made matters worse - was the attitude of the management team: one party emotional with comments she would lose her job and have to pay for the room if I complained; the other repeatedly asking why we hadn't seen the night button (which wasn't apparent) and why we had been upgraded.
A genuine apology - was not extended and the subsequent follow up poorly managed.
In short, suggest staying elsewhere.
