Whilst Ros was a lovely and welcoming host there was no getting away from the fact you are lodging in a room in someone's house. For example, in the double room the hosts' double wardrobes are locked although there is a small wardrobe for guests to use.
The homemade cookies were delicious but I was unable to have a cup of coffee as the kettle was mouldy. The breakfast was to be ordered the night before and Ros didn't mind that my husband was unable to finish his.
The shared bathroom at the far end of the hall was quite odd and did remind you you were in someone else's house - toothbrushes, shampoo etc. I get up in the night to go to the loo and it did make me feel uncomfortable. If I'd realised this wasn't ensuite we wouldn't have booked this room.
£80 for this B&B in Farnham is almost the same as the Mercure hotel in the centre (£89 excluding breakfast) This makes me think Dove House is not that good value for money.
