I did not stay at The Pound Inn but I went in today for some food. I ordered the fresh fish platter which was fantastic. The fish was cooked to perfection, soft and moist. There was a good selection including mussels in a White wine and garlic sauce, king prawns and a selection of fish battered, smoked, spiced and grilled. Served with mushrooms, onion rings and chips. I shared the platter with my father, neither of us had a starter and certainly didnt need a pudding we were stuffed! Great value for money for a filling variety of fresh fish cooked beautifully!!! Would recommend the fish platter to everyone!!

I didn't actually stay at the Pound Inn but as we are new to the area, we wanted to try the food in the restaurant as they always advertise fresh fish on the board on the street.
We ordered the fish platter which was about 15pound (most expensive option on the menu) and more than enough to feed two according to the girl who served us.
The food arrived promptly, it looked appealing & was served with a small bowl of chips.
Unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations, we were served 2 small pieces of cod, one with seasoning the other battered, some large prawns, some tiny mussels & a piece of haddock I think it was. The plate was dressed/filled up with tasteless onion rings and soggy mushrooms.
It was served promptly but some of the fish was just lukewarm. On the whole I wouldn't recommend it to anybody, it wasn't very good & it certainly didn't feel like value for money either.

The room was very well equipped, clean and modern. It was great value for the price of the room and we found it a very enjoyable stay. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were extremely helpful and flexible on things like what time it suited us to have breakfast (which was included in the price and was freshly cooked and very good). We also ate dinner in the restaurant and again the menu had lots of choice and the food was great. All in all, this surpassed our expectations and was a great place to stay. Very much recommended.

Travelled to Somserset for family reunion. Warm welcome when arrived outside pub hours. The pub has just two en-suite rooms, a double and a large family room. My double was very well furnished in pine. All the usual supplies in room - Tea/coffee etc.
The dinner menu contains the usual meat and fish dishes - it is extensive - plus some original dishes for the more adventurous.Well worth trying. Good wine list - bottle or by glass
Comfortable bar with friendly locals. Good, friendly service. Real ales on draught. Situated on the corner of the main road and a country lane. Outdoor tables for sunny days. Ideal for visiting Cheddar, Wells, The Mendips, or Glastonbury. Regular bus services.
