Recently stayed at Champneys Springs with daughter for her 21st birthday treat. Check in was handled efficiently and in a friendly by Stuart on the front desk. We had been given a free upgrade to a Premier room which was not ready until later on. To cut to the chase the good - the Premier room was lovely, the classes were good fun although I was disappointed that on the two days there there was no yoga available. Lunch was adequate although starters soup on both days to start and rice pudding as hot option - a bit like hospital food? Breakfast and dinner great - although restaurant staff not particularly attentive. Springs does have a lovely relaxed feeling though and the therapists were brilliant. Bad - could have benefited from a tour as it was our first visit. The swimming pool area is need of a complete overhaul. The changing rooms in the spa area had inadequate space. Not enough seating always for some peace and quiet - the area a bit like an airport lounge. Staff in cafe could try smiling same for most of restaurant staff. I rarely have many negative comments to voice on this site, however, i was disappointed. One really great benefit at Springs however, is the possibility to keep your room until 4.00 p.m. on day of departure instead of 11.00 a.m. for a supplement of £25. I have been going to Ragdale hall for the last twenty years and shall be returning there in the future.
