“Mixed experience I will be returning to Ragdale Hall”

Recently stayed at Champneys Springs with daughter for her 21st birthday treat. Check in was handled efficiently and in a friendly by Stuart on the front desk. We had been given a free upgrade to a Premier room which was not ready until later on. To cut to the chase the good - the Premier room was lovely, the classes were good fun although I was disappointed that on the two days there there was no yoga available. Lunch was adequate although starters soup on both days to start and rice pudding as hot option - a bit like hospital food? Breakfast and dinner great - although restaurant staff not particularly attentive. Springs does have a lovely relaxed feeling though and the therapists were brilliant. Bad - could have benefited from a tour as it was our first visit. The swimming pool area is need of a complete overhaul. The changing rooms in the spa area had inadequate space. Not enough seating always for some peace and quiet - the area a bit like an airport lounge. Staff in cafe could try smiling same for most of restaurant staff. I rarely have many negative comments to voice on this site, however, i was disappointed. One really great benefit at Springs however, is the possibility to keep your room until 4.00 p.m. on day of departure instead of 11.00 a.m. for a supplement of £25. I have been going to Ragdale hall for the last twenty years and shall be returning there in the future.

Room Tip: If you can afford a Premier room they really are lovely on the ground floor with a little seating ar...

“Superb relaxing break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

My friend and I have just had a 2 night/3 day break at Springs - return guests. We arrived on Sunday morning and did the relaxation class at 12 noon - what a great start, it helped me mentally switch off from work worries. Where else can you go into a studio and be given a mat, pillow and duvet! The whole atmosphere is of relaxation and pampering. I really enjoyed the hula hooping, found the skipping exhausting, did a number of other classes and plenty of swimming/steaming. I was disappointed not to have the opportunity to do the drumball class but it clashed with my treatments (which were fab). Food was superb, staff helpful and surroundings great. Despite the freezing weather outside, indoors was wonderfully warm. I also like the no mobile policy in public areas and the blankets on all sofas (which I certainly made use of!). I had my hair done on the last afternoon which was great way to finish the break. I certainly left feeling much more calm, relaxed and happy and can't wait to go back.

“Another wonderful short break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We have just returned from another 2 night break at Champneys Springs and already looking forward to the next one. Wonderful staff throughout the resort, fabulous food - you could never go hungry there. Favourite treatment this time and is highly recommended - Mediterranean Bliss Flotation - so warm and relaxing. Thalassotherapy pool is another must. Very kind and sympathetic staff in the Gym areas who put up with us and encouraged us in every exercise class be it "spinning" , "skipping" or other "strenous" exercise classes and never made us (2 middle-aged rather unfit ladies!) feel as though we were holding up the others! Note to self - must get in some practice before next visit. We had a very nice superior room with balcony overlooking the peaceful garden this time. Thank you to all for a superb time.

“The best spa break I could recommend”

Having been here for a few day spas & 3 spa breaks with my mum, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. A great variety of classes, love hula hoop, aqua & stretch & relax. The staff go out the way to make sure you are happy & comfortable.Loved the zero balancing,& Thai foot massage, but then all the treatments are wonderful, and all staff are friendly & professional. The staff are so helpful with my eating, making my meals enjoyable . . If you are choosing a spa to go to, this has to be your number one choice.

“Relaxing pamper at Springs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My daughter and I returned to Champneys Springs earlier this month for our third 'after Christmas' relaxation treat. All the staff at Springs are really friendly, helpful and very professional. It is always nice for us that so many of the staff there remember us from previous visits . . . and welcome us like old friends! Nothing is too much trouble for them, whether you are a returning guest or a new guest. My daughter has some medical problems and has to have a special diet. The restaurant staff and chefs go out of their way to make sure she has meals that she can eat and enjoy. Chef even made fresh mint sauce for me when I requested some to go with the lamb I ordered. Any special requests or issues are dealt with and resolved almost immediately. Treatments - so many to choose from - my favourites include aromatherapy massage and chocolate wrap - there is something on offer to tempt everyone! Thoroughly recommend Springs if you're looking for a 'get away from it all' lovely, relaxing break . . We can't wait for our next visit!

Room Tip: There is Wifi throughout the hotel, but not in all bedrooms. If you require Wifi, advise to ask if t...
