Just back from Old Guadeloupe where we stayed in both farmhouse and holiday cottage for a long weekend around a friends Wedding in Ratcliffe

The accomodation was spacious, comfortable and well equipped - each room in the farmhouse had an en suite. There was also a games (pool table) room and a lounge with a big TV with DVD which kept my daughter occupied.

Best of all though was the chance to relax in a hot tub - just brilliant. We've not stopped talking about it since.

Credit too to Sue who was friendly and professional throughout our stay... and didnt seem to mind us having the odd late night outdoors....

We stayed in the farmhouse for a weekend break with our 2 married daughters, their husbands and our toddler grandson. Sue was very welcoming and soon showed us around. The house was spacious and very comfortable with lovely bathrobes being supplied for the hot-tub. The beds were very comfy. The kitchen was very well equipped. Sue has thought of everything. There is a handy utility room also where you can just put all your bags and boxes out of the way as we cooked all our main meals rather than going out so we took a lot of stuff!

The hot tub was fabulous and we used it a lot. The views from there over the countryside were very good. We had a lovely BBQ one night. There is a nice lawn where you could play ball games with the family if desired. The men in our party enjoyed the pool table. There is a nice conservatory where you can sit if it's a bit cold outside but there is a picnic table and some loungers outdoors as well.
It's not too far into Melton Mowbray and there are some lovely parks. We had to try the pork pie shoppe of course. We had a ride to Rutland Water which is about 10 miles away. There are loads of water sports going on, pleasure cruises etc. There is a track all the way around the lake which you can walk round or hire cycles like we did.
All in all a fabulous weekend.
We hope to return to Old Guadaloupe.

Spent a mid week break in this impressive farmhouse with my family . The house is so big, it accomodated our large group perfectly and allowed us all to have our own space too.The farmhouse is furnished to a very high standard, it is very homely and we all felt comfortable straight away. The wonderful hot tub,bbq and pool table kept us all entertained along with dvds and board games to play around the cosy fire in the evenings.. My young granddaughter could freely roam around, enjoying the horses and playing in the garden in complete safety. Sue, the owner of the farmhouse, was very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. We would love to stay here again. As Pop Larkin said in the Darling Buds of May...Perfick!

This place is amazing - Sue formerly used the farmhouse as a B&B but more recently has decided to rent it out as a holiday cottage. I stayed with a group of friends for a long weekend - Sue welcomed us with a ready warmed hot tub, immaculate rooms (with plush bath robes and slippers), a huge farmhouse kitchen with range cooker and all mod cons. The farmhouse is down a quiet road, and has its own entrance and parking, overlooking fields with horses grazing in them.
The hot tub is brand new and large enough for 7 or 8 people. The rates are extremely reasonable for hiring the farmhouse and Sue also showed us the cottage which is equally plush with it's own hot tub - would be fab for a smaller group or couple.
We've already booked to go again.
