“Great for a short break.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I was in a party of 2 couples and we rented one of the Knightley Lodges for a long weekend break. The lodge was really nice, well decorated, clean and modern. Can’t say we were impressed by the bath tub at the end of the bed as this was a bit of a pain really.

The Hot Tub was great and upon arrival on Friday night it was already nice and warm!

A local village is only a short walk but not much there really, the local pub was cold and very unwelcoming so we went back to the Park and tried Hindelini’s Cafe/Restaurant. This was really nice and served nice food and bottles of wine at a fair price. Plus it also had a nice comfortable seating area by a wood burner which was very nice indeed.

You do need to drive to get to any local towns as the price of a taxi is about £25 each way.

We would go back again for a short break as it was really nice.

“Perfect getaway”

Firstly this place is really easy to find. Yes, we used satnav but really didn't need to as it is 1 turn off A59. We travelled as a couple with a dog for a special birthday treat staying midweek Mon-Thur. We were immediately impressed by the immaculate grounds, clean and well kept. We had an early check- in and as promised everything was ready on time. The Chatterley lodge was beautiful - I would be really struggling to find any negatives. It's open plan (bar a curtain over the bedroom area) but this makes it feel spacious, contemporary, light and airy. The jacuzzi bath in the bedroom / bathroom area was lush. The water was boiling and the double shower had excellent power. The bed was lovely and comfortable (other reviewers have had a problem?). The hot tub was definately hot enough to use on the first night, possibly because we had early check in? And we saw the water changed in-between guests, so that was reassuring! Our lodge was number 9 and was the closest to reception / Hindelinis but there was no noise whatsoever - infect it was handy having a 30 second walk to breakfast! The food was lovely - fresh and homemade. It was very reasonably priced - you can see the menu on their website direct. They close at 6pm and last orders for food were 5.20pm, I am not sure whether this is just for winter? But there is a couple of places to eat within walking distance in the evening if you don't want to cook. Saying that, there is everything you need in the lodge kitchen - microwave, oven, gas hob, dishwasher (they even provide a couple of tablets, washing up liquid, dishcloth etc).
The staff were all lovely, always asking how everything was. They were even helpful with where to go for walks etc although there are plenty of leaflets and information of "things to do" in the lodge and in reception.
Tv volume in lounge is set quite low, which is good really because it does not disturb other guests but it is really quiet especially when watching DVDs! Although the TVs have freeview channels hardly any were available (no signal). Not sure whether this is because of the remote area or anther it was our TV but it really wasn't important to us as we were out all day and in the hot tub at night!
The local area is beautiful and there is a local shop on main road that says "deli" but it's a general store too and sells bits of stuff like shampoo etc too which is handy.
Good places to visit are Skipton (nice town, canal walks and canal boat trips), Clitheroe (again nice town, shops, Castle in centre, riverside walk near swimming pool Longridge area of town). There are also loads of little villages listed In file in lodge - we managed to get to quite a few because they are all so close by (10-20 mins in car). That said, other than pubs, dog walks, tea rooms and the odd ruin - that's it......which suited us perfectly!
I can not praise this place high enough and we have stayed in some luxury hotels in the past!
It was superb! Thank you to all the staff who must work really hard to create such a lovely environment. We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Chatterley number 9 for couples / dog. You won't be disappointed.

“Extremely pleasant stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Booked and stayed at the Park over 5 days/4 nights between 30th Jan - 3rd Feb staying in a Wentworth Lodge (No. 60).

We arrived at the Park just before 5pm and found check-in to be very easy and were met by very pleasant staff who explained everything to us. The reception also doubles up with Hindelini's coffee shop.Directions to the park are clear and it is easy found.

On arriving at our lodge we parked in the space provided immediately outside (handy for taking luggage into the lodge). The lodge has a lounge/kitchen area. The kitchen has all modern appliances (maybe apart from a gas heated kettle) whilst the lounge has a comfortable L-shaped sofa with a TV that has FreeSat and a DVD player. There are sliding patio doors leading to the hot -tub. There is also a large kitchen table with two chairs.

The lounge leads through to the bedroom (WC in small hall) that has a large overhead rainforest shower, jacuzzi bath and four poster bed. There is another TV with FreeSat and DVD player. Again there are patio doors leading to the hot tub.

There is underfloor heating around the shower/bath area and the heating within the lodge is pre-set. We found this comfortable enough however when waking up during the night the lodge was fairly cold however the comfy duvet soon remedied this.

The hot tub is just superb and is a comfortable size for two. It is not totally secluded as passing pedestrians can see in if looking through a wooden slatted fence (would have to make an effort to look mind you and this did not cause us a problem).

The only minor inconvenience we could find with the lodge was that there was no where to hang our coats and the small wardrobe/cupboard did not have enough coat hangers (only 2 provided).

The weather was lovely whilst we were there and this allowed us to make full use of some of the lovely walks in and around the park.

We also used Hindelini's for lunch and breakfast during our stay and would highly recommend it. The food was lovely and reasonably priced with very pleasant staff. The home baking looked simply delicious and if you are calorie counting then look away when entering.

All told we had a thoroughly enjoyable relaxing stay in a beautifully presented lodge and would have no problem recommending the park or returning ourselves.

“Perfect break.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Just returned from a 4 day mid week break at Ribblesdale Park. The Lodge was lovely ( number 12 )Darcy Lodge, it was very comfortable and spacious with a big decked veranda which got the sun all day long. The hot tub was ready for us to use straight away when we got there on the Monday which was great after all the long walks we took everyday.
The site was very dog friendly and we could take him into the coffee shop in front of the roaring log fire whilst enjoying a beverage and cake.
The menu for the coffee shop looked good, we only tried the cakes and coffee which was very good and you must try the local bottled cider which we would highly recommend.
All in all it was a great mid week break very relaxing and would definitely return..
