“Great location for a team event!”

As a group of 9 colleagues, we rented Woodpecker and Mole End for a few days in Oct 2011. The cottages are furnished to the highest standard and the impeccable en suite facilities made it a very comfortable stay for a work event. We made full use of the very sociable open plan layout and the under floor heating/Aga meant it was so cosy. There are some lovely walks locally which were helpful for clearing the head. The friendly welcome from Terry and Sue made it all the more pleasant - Terry even helped us tow two cars out of some pretty stubborn mud - over and above service, thanks! Proximity to the unspoilt countryside, with lovely views all the way out to the coast, coupled with the array of animals Terry & Sue keep made it a very relaxing and inspirational place to be for our team event. 100% recommend.

“Old Stables Cottage”

We stayed in The Old Stables cottage at Barnacre Cottages for a week at the end of September and had a great time. Sue and Terry were helpful from our first email communication and throughout our stay if we needed anything. Many thanks for the delicious cakes on arrival.

The cottage was lovely and spacious especially the open plan sitting room, luxurious kitchen, dining area and my favourite the conservatory.

The children especially loved the little mice paintings throughout the cottage - we kept finding more and more - round the clock, by the skirting board, in the bedrooms (as well as the clouds and stars).

The chickens also kept us entertained, running over for some left over scraps, and coming regularly in the morning in the hope of some more goodies.

It would be good to visit again and enjoy the lovely garden and see how the roses and climbing plants have developed and grown.
Many thanks to Sue and Terry for making such a lovely environment to stay in.

“Mole End”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011

Just returned from a lovely stay at Barnacre cottages (Mole End). Tucked away up country lanes but so many places very easily accesible. I travelled with my elderly parents and my sister who is recuperating from serious illness and I found it spot on! We could go on daytrips to all sorts of places within 20 - 30 mins and then come back and enjoy the fabulous surroundings. The finish specification on the cottage we stayed in was first class.
I am an early riser and wildlife was abundant with birds of prey, fallow deer, rabbits and many game birds passing close by. I am pleased we had no room in the car as my mother may well have 'dog napped ' the resident dogs. Terry kindly walked them up to see my mum (who is 83) when I said she was a dog lover.

We arrived at 4pm , Sainsburys delivered at 4.15 and by 5pm the Aga was cooking the curry and we were having apertifs!

Would recommend without a doubt.

“Excellent stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

Beautiful cottage. Great local attractions within 30 minutes to many places to choose from. High spec in cottage and lovely setting. Very spacious, cream deco, light and airy. We've booked again for next year as accommodation is so hard to find at this level. A great family holiday

“Fantastic home from home luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

Fantastic place, anyone who has anything to say bad about this place or the owners
Must be deluded.
Stayed here on several occasions all in different cottages with my family and dogs and is a great base.
The owners are lovely and can not do enough for you, I would ignore any negative comments that you may read about the place as anyone with a bit of class and respect for other peoples property will love this place.
A real home from home holiday.
