“Much improved and upgraded single track (red) offroad cycle route”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We rode the single track (red route) 13 km cycle route severals times over the Christams and New Year holiday including early morning after heavy rainfall. It was evident that much of the track had been upgraded and improved with even a tarmac tight bend section added. None of the track upgrades detract from the outstanding scenary and once you get away from the Flimwell section of the A21, the peacefulness of a forest and woodland.

“Lovely family day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Get in touch with nature, take a long stroll, cycle around and marvel out the huge variety of trees. Could easily spend a few days in here and perfect on a sunny day with a picnic

“Back to Nature”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

Excellent routes to walk but be sure to have a guide and a means of knowing north from south since you can lose yourself quite easily and end up walking a long way! if you like biking in woods then that is good too.
Cafe is average but the loos are fine. Cheap at £8.50/car and you can learn a lot as there is plenty of labelling of trees.
Routes that are flat or hilly identified
You should wear walking boots or at least stout comfortable footwear.

“Very disappointing”

Visited The Electric Forest at Bedgebury during half term with grandaughter and her friend. We were so looking forward to a spectacular event following the articles and photos of last year's show at the pinetum. Quite the contrary !! In our opinion it was a very poor show all round. The trail was around various playareas which were probably not lit up adequately to be safe bearing in mind the wet and muddy conditions on the day. There was no WOW factor at all. Very overpriced at £41 for family ticket

“The Electric Forest,not so illuminating!”

We visited Bedgebury for its Electric Forest display which runs through half term. As grown ups without children we expected the focus to be on the children's activities but had hoped the forest lighting alone would 'blow us away' as we paid £15.50 each for the pleasure. What was there was good but not enough of it to justify the price. It needed more lights, and better use of lights, more sounds and music and something interactive; characters and story-telling. The event was a bit underwhelming and too reliant on the children's adventure playgrounds as an activity. You could buy marshmallows to toast over braziers and burgers and other consessions were available but overall it was disappointing. The best bit was the fountain by the visitors centre which wasn't really part of the walk It was lit up and had a sequence of water displays. We were glad we didn't invite friends to accompany us as we would have felt embarrassed at the quality of the event. If you were to go with children this would probably be a better experience but still overpriced.
