“We would highly recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

We made a return trip to Weobley having stayed in the attached cottage to this Hotel two years ago, we decided to lay a ghost to rest. Our previous stay was under the old management and I need say no more about that, judging by reviews made during that time. What I wanted you all to know is that the old King is dead and the new King and Queen deserve their crowns!. Frank and Claire are very delightful people, extremely friendly and professional. We didnt stay but we had an evening meal. We had a steak and duck and both meals were delicious, you can tell that Frank loves his art. We were able to have a chat with them both on a rainy Sunday afternoon (and a couple of glasses of the local cider!) and within minutes felt that we had known them for ages, its obvious they are so keen to please. We hope that in the not too distant future that we can find the time to go back and stay at the hotel and enjoy more of their absolutely first class faire. Well done Frank and Claire

Having discovered the Red Lion by chance in June (when looking for somewhere to lunch in Weobley) we were so impressed by the warm welcome and superb food that we decided to book an extended weekend stay in August.
The Red Lion has a great ambience and the owners Clare and Frank are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them, even providing us with a meal when the pub was effectively closed.
Everywhere is clean and spotless and the bedrooms are furnished and decorated in a modern style which sympatheticaly blends in with the historic building.
All the meals were superb being cooked to order using fresh ingredients, we actually bumped into Frank one morning bringing in a bundle of fresh veg from his plot at the bottom of the garden.
The Red Lion at Weobley is a real gem which we intend to to revisit time and time again in the near future.

“Very warm welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

This visit was very much last minute, we found ourselves in the village and decided to stay! Unfortunately, there was a private dinner and so no evening meal, but the owner did offer us a steak if we would rather stay there than venture out. In hindsight, we should have, as we had a disastrous experience at the restaurant down the road. However, the owners couldn't be more friendly, helpful or welcoming. Nothing was a problem and there is a lovely relaxed feel about the whole place. The room was simple and probably could do with an update, but it was roomy and clean which is more important to us. The breakfast was amazing and miles better than expected. We would definitely recommend this place.

the new owners have transformed the red lion.Take note of reviews under a previous owner as an example of how things can go wrong ,but they have absolutely nothing to do with the current situation.
the red lion was clean throughout. The owners could not have been more pleasant or helpful.the rooms were spacious ,and the area is quiet in the evenings .
the food is of a standard one would not expect , and this is due to the expertise and experience of the chef - i cannot recommend too highly what a pleasant place to stay the Red Lion has become ,if you want a base to explore the area, or need somewhere for a quiet break this is the place to try

We stayed for 4 nights at the end of April and beginning of May 2011. Clare and Frank could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Our room was large and very comfortable. The breakfasts were outstanding: great food, beautifully presented in the fabulous surroundings of this ancient pub. We had two evening meals: one a buffet booked for a large number of people on the occasion of a relative's 90th birthday, the other from the standard evening menu. Both were excellent. The range of food at the buffet was quite amazing: the quality, use of local produce and presentation simply staggering. If you need somewhere for a special meal for 20-30 people look no further!
The standard evening menu is simple and straight forward, but the food is excellent. We had fillet steak and salmon, both beautifully served and very tasty, the steak rare (as I like it) and so tender it melted in the mouth.
On top of this, the Red Lion is great value for money, both for B&B and for its food!
Mobile phone coverage is limited: it worked in our room, but not downstairs.
