“Lovely pub hotel and restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

Stayed 2 nights here on business, and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room and lovely meals. Stockbridge is very pretty and easy to find, the White Hart is on the edge of the town. The menu as quite large, plenty of choice and the meals I ate were very tasty. Breakfast was substantial, with plenty of choice. All in all a lovely place to stay well decorated room with very nice toiletries and yummy chocolates, bottled water etc in the room - I just hope there is room there when I next need to visit!

“Pleasant Inn”

Stayed one night at The White Hart Inn.
We had a nice room above the pub and it cost £75 B&B
The village Stockbridge is very easy to find as it is close to the motorway.
We ate in the pub, there was a decent menu with a few specials. The food was tasty and not expensive. They also have a large selection of beer and wine which is something that Irish pubs could learn from.
The bed was very comfy and the provision of bottled water, coffee pot and chocolates were a lovely addition.
Bathroom was a good size with a powefrul shower.
Breakfast was freshly cooked and once again the food was good quality. However my only complaint was breakfast related. Breakfast finishes at 9:30 which is very early to be up when you are on holidays. I feel that 10:30 would be a suitable time to finish breakfast.
By the way if you do not like graveyards be aware our room looked out onto a graveyard!!

Room Tip: The rooms above the pub seem to be the better rooms. The pub closes early so noise is not an issue

“A beautiful, homely establishment! Sumptuous rooms.. Warm, friendly welcome and great restaurant/bar Just a shame I was here on”

I drove in to find the car park full.. And no surprise why! A lovely Fuller pub with a hotel at the back! Set in beautiful countryside in a great little village! Brilliantly provisioned rooms with all mod cons and brilliant bed! I'm used to good quality Holiday Inns, but this is a refreshingly pleasant alternative where it is quality and homely!

“good Menu, shame about the service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2011

We went for a family lunch one afternoon. There was a good choice of food and lots of specials on the blackboard, however the service was extremely slow. With about 4 staff on the front, we waited nearly half an hour for someone to take our order, even though there were hardly any other customers. When the food eventually did arrive, it was mostly cold. One of the orders was wrong, and the fish and chips were limp and tasteless. We decided to keep the other meals but send the fish and chips back. When they arrived they were hard and burnt, obviously over-cooked. I have been back since a few times and the atmosphere is very nice, and the staff seem very genuine. Although the speed of service does vary.

“Nice Stay”

Lovely rooms, decent price & value. Had a refurbished/superior room, very nice bathroom. Friends had regular rooms which were also very nice. Quiet location. Bed slightly too soft. Breakfast very tasty and plentiful. Ate evening meal in restaurant, mains were average but not disagreeable, lovely puddings. Staff always helpful and courteous. Free wifi. Would definitely recommend.
