“Look No Further”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Absolutely first class. Daphne Mathews is the perfect hostess. A lovely welcome, superb fully equipped character rooms and fantastic breakfasts. The full English breakfast was brilliant ...if you go do try the fabulous Walnut Toast.

Good location with many tourist attractions close to hand.

Very close is Bucklers Hard Maritime Museum - an absolute must.- photo below shows part of village.

Room Tip: Fully equipped and comfortable

“The Best B&B I have ever stayed in.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 April 2011

Yew Tree Farm is the most fabulous B&B in the New Forest. Just a couple of rooms but the best hospitality and amazing traditional rooms. Superb!

“A real treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2010

A real gem of a find. My husband and I visited for 2 nights during October as I wanted to visit some old childhood haunts. We were wonderfully welcomed by Daphne and shown to a large and comfortable room. Everything you could possible want was provided. The breakfast was so relaxing as it is served up until 11.00 am so there was no rushing up in the morning! It was served in our room and could not be faulted. There was a good choice of breads, jams, etc and you order this the night before.
I had been feeling really tired and stressed prior to our trip but came home feeling refreshed. It had been a real treat to be looked after so well.

“Wished we could have stayed for more than one night!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2010

Spent one night (only, sadly) at this beautiful cottage, which my husband booked as part of my birthday present. If we did not have had to return to London for a birthday meal with friends and family, we would have happily stayed longer. Daphne, Gordon and the dogs and cat were extremely welcoming and their home, which they open up to guests, was charming and delightful. We had the downstairs room, which was absolutely massive and very comfortable. It did not have an on suite bathroom but that was not a problem as we were provided with a private bathroom of our own upstairs. Daphne even supplies bath robes! In fact, she has thought of everything that you could need. The bed was massive and very comfy, with masses of pillows. In the morning Daphne brought in our pre-ordered cooked breakfast (other healthier options are available!) which she set up in our room on the table in the window. Just perfect. Freshly squeezed orange juice, tea made in a silver teapot and served in china cups, locally sourced sausages which were probably the best sausages I have ever had, and on and on it goes until we were too stuffed to move. The cottage is right next to Burley Villa Riding School, which was the reason for our visit to the New Forest (we went on a 2hr horse treck through the forest, it was amazing) and right on the doorstep of the New Forest itself. All in all, it was a lovely stay and we will definately go back again, for at least 2 nights this time!

“The archetypal thatch cottage.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2010

My partner and I found this gem amongst "Britain's Finest". Picture perfect, a beautiful thatched cottage set in a perfectly private garden, climbing roses , huge old apple tree , wisteria... you get the picture. We were warmly greeted by our hostess Daphne and shown to our room, more a suite than a room! Tastefully furnished with an obvious eye for detail , fresh flowers, silver teapot , delicate teacups and saucers. Breakfast, to our delight was served in our room, all beautifully and professionally presented. My partner thoroughly enjoyed the kippers, a nice alternative to the traditional English breakfast , also available, and I enjoyed a bowl of home made muesli and fresh strawberries. A great location at the southern edge of the New Forest, all areas of interest were easily accessible and the choice of quality restaurants and eateries were all within a short driving distance.
If you are afraid of dogs the 2 large dobermans rushing at the gate could cause your heart to miss a beat, but they are perfectly trained and totally harmless.
I sincerely recommend this B& B for all those travelers who enjoy a superior experience without the huge expense.
