“Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2012

I stayed in the Campanile for obe night with my partner so we could have a night out in Mnachester. On arrival the receptionist was very welcoming and helpful (Emanuella) I think her name was. We had a late check in (3pm) so when we arrived our room wasnt ready, so we were able to leave our car in the secure car park and head into the city centre and pick our room key up later. The walk was a good 20 mins, bu the sun was shining and we didn't mind. The receptionist also gave us brilliant directions to the city centre. We had booked a double room which was ok with everything you would expect, TV, tea coffee facilities even a hairdryer! Room to store clothing etc. The room was spotless and couldnt find any fault. The bed was comfortable to sleep in, so no complait here either. We had booked and paid for breakfast, this was served in the building which houses the restaurant, bar and reception. I was very impressed with the full english. Plenty toast and coffee too. Overall I found the stay very good and would definatly stay here again.

“Functional, friendly, good breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2012

I stayed in the Campanile with a friend for a weekend visiting Manchester. The twin room was somewhat small but functional and well equipped and had everything we needed incl fridge, water boiler, TV. The room and the attached bathroom were well cleaned and beds were comfortable.
You may hear some noise from the big street around the corner but that was alright. Staff was friendly. The continental breakfast for 6 GBP was worth the money. For a short trip to the city the hotel is a good deal. If you look for something fancy/ romantic move on.

“Visit to Old Trafford with stay in Campanile Salford Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2012

I have an experience of lots of travels in many European countries. I may say there aren't many places where I've seen so good reception. The staff was friendly. I did not expect to see anything special inside the room, but apart of cold floor in the bathroom (my room was 26 in the basement), which I had to fix by using one of my 3 towels, other things were nice. Special words for the bed, pillow and blanket. Good night sleep is what you need after long travel or long day of walking in the city. As for the bistro, I may say that I liked this food. It was not something special, but for me it was quite OK, specially lovely mushroom soup and butternut squash soup. Beer price did not surprise really as it should be slightly higher than in the pubs, but now may say that these prices are of London pub prices level for the same sorts.
As for the breakfast, for me (the man of almost 130 kg weight) the full English breakfast was more than enough, plus couple of wonderful chocolate pies to round the breakfast up. All in all, when I'm in Manchester again, I'll stay there.
My room was one of the furthest to Regent road, so I was not troubled at all by any traffic noise. Even the started engines in the parking where my window looked at, did not bother me much, only if the window was open.

“Okay for the price.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 May 2012

Having stayed here for 2 nights I would return as it was value for money. Fine if you were just sleeping in the room and not in it during the day. However I will NEVER eat in the restaurant again. It was awful. After getting our orders taken it took 20 minutes for food to arrive, then halfway through eating the soup I got informed that there was no risotto which was the only thing I liked on the small menu. So I had to pick something else and ended up having another starter instead. The staff were rude and didn't seem too bothered about working.

“Would not stay again!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 April 2012

It started of wonderful, nice polite welcome at reception. Then it all went wrong!
The food is disgusting, thank god there is a McDonald's local, it's a 12pm check out, but your woken up at 8am with hoovers, banging trolleys and polish lady's, who speak no English trying to gain access to your room, and then not understanding a word you say when you tell them to leave you till 12. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything around you.
There are burn marks on the carpets, and if you move a chair away from the corner it looks as tho it's never seen a Hoover, at least an inch thick with dust, you can actually see where they have gone round the chair with the Hoover, the bathroom sink looks as tho it's glued to the wall with silicone. And I made the mistake of drying myself after a shower while still stood in the bath! The tiles had a yellow kind of dirt on them, which came off on the towel, so I can say for certain they have never even seen a drop of bleach, I rubbed it with the corner of the towel and was amazed to find a fairly pleasant tile underneath the build up of dead skins cells and old soap! The place smells, like stale tobacco, and there was a vile odour of sewage coming from the room facing me, which as I departed had a large polish man trying to cover the smell with air freshner, when I asked what was wrong, he couldn't understand me, turned and walked away. A terrible stay, I will never, ever step foot in the place again.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere!
