A relaxing evening.
A welcoming pre dinner bar and an extensive if not cheap wine list, an excellent starter and main course, we had steak which was cooked perfectly for both our tastes. After an excellent main meal the desert was a bit disappointing with a very solid top to the Creme Brûlée, I have seen softer toffee apples!, and a slightly tired cheese board.
Arrived late afternoon and stayed in the Oak room, an old fashioned four poster room with a bath. Separate modern en-suite bathroom with large shower. Room was clean and well kept although mattress very soft. A first class cooked breakfast.
The staff were without exception friendly happy and very helpful, will return again.
