“Disco and karaoke until midnight?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

Website and reviews we read failed to mention that on Friday and Saturday nights there is live music, a disco and/or terrible karaoke. Having said that we had a 2 year old son, for whom we had to bring our travel cot, we felt that the likely lack of sleep before midnight was something that should have been mentioned at the time of booking. Staff are very friendly and rooms are better than you might expect in a pub. However, the evening was average at best, breakfast significantly better, and we ended up staying only on night as couldn't face a repeat performance. IF YOU THINK THAT YOU COULD SLEEP THROUGH THE MUSIC, EVEN IN THE ROOMS AT THE BACK OF THE PUB YOU ARE WRONG. WE FELT LIKE WE WERE IN THE BAR NOT IN BED TRYING TO SLEEP.

“Good value for money, traditional inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

We stayed at the Bull Inn for one night, after finishing a bakery course at the Lighthouse Bakery School at nearby Bodiam. We had room 2 which had recently been redecorated, and had a new shower room and carpets. The room was simple, but comfortable and clean. We ate at the pub that night and were very pleased with the quality of the food, and the friendlines of the owners/staff. Whilst some of the Bull Inn is very old with original features, the refurbishment is to a good standard. The breakfast the next morning was very good with decent sausages and bacon (better than a lot of well known hotels). Overall a good place to stop with a friendly welcome!

“This place has got so much better since changing hands!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

This place has got so much better since changing hands!

I kid you not. It was absolutely diabolical when we stayed a couple of years ago. Recently a work colleague stayed there and said it was nothing like we had experienced.

So we booked up and stayed for 3 nights.

Fantastic - all of it. So glad the previous owners left!

“Thank you for making a difficult circumstance enjoyable and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2010

I stayed at the bull unexpectedly after my Father had a stroke whilst on holiday in Rye and was rushed to the wonderful Conquest Hospital. We found the Bull on recommendation from the tourist office and it made the whole experience so much easier to cope with. We were made immediately welcome and the rooms were clean light and the whole place felt very homely which was just what we needed. the owners could not have been kinder or more supportive or more flexible with rooms and length of stay which changed daily for us. If you have the opportunity to visit this lovely area especially battle with many coffee shops restaurants and shoe shops make sure you stay at the bull (if you can stay at the back the road at the front can be noisy.)

“Clean room polite staff and good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2010

A short review to say that I have just booked a short break with the Bull and looking forward to the same standard that I received last time I visited (last year twice both with family)
I cannot understand some of the reviews as they bear no resembalance to my experiences at the Bull I have stayed at some of the best hotels in Europe and although you cannot compare them like for like I have been as comfortable in the Bull as any.
best regards
Paul
