We booked for dinner and then the snow came down so requested lunch instead, the staff could not have been more accommodating. Lunch was superb, there were 6 0f us and everyone ordered different dishes and some asked for slight variations. As evrything is cooked from fresh these were all very willingly accommodated. Food was very good and a very jolly lunch was had by all. Staff were superb and I can't wait to go back again.

We stayed at Sutherland House Hotel in February 2012, only arriving home today. We are already planning the return trip ! The bedrooms are very large and comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who remain discretely hidden until needed. Breakfast was included, and was perfectly cooked to order, and served between 9 and 10am; allowing time for an extra hour in bed ! (other hotels take note). The location of the Adnams brewery just at the end of the road was an added advantage to my beer obsessed fiancée.

This was clearly one of the best places we have stayed in - a fantastic room and food that was probably the most delicious we have had in a long time. We will certainly be back. In fact, it was so good, I've put a longer review on the restaurant page.

Every June visit I Southwold with a group of friends and inevitably elect Sutherland House restaurant for dinner which has to be said is always first class with good wines and service. Look forward to my next visit in June. Highly recommended.
