i was blown by the hotel and its cleanliness because otherwise I found Kanchipuram to be quite a dirty little town. It was clean, had nice crisp sheets and the loo was clean- I didn't need anything else at all.
I would totally recommend this place for anyone who wants a clean and nice place to stay

There are not many great options to stay in Kanchipuram and you will not be disappointed with GRT Residency. Centrally located, it is on one of the main shopping streets in Kanchipuram and is a convenient place for shopping. Saravana Bhavan, th famous vegetarian restaurant, is just next to it.

The hotel is obviously only 3 star at most, but is very neat and decent. Rooms are also neat and clean, though a little small.

They have a little restaurant attached to the hotel, which serves fairly decent fare at affordable rates. The restaurant staffs are friendly and too happy to help you with your order. In case you tire of the food in this restaurant, you have the option of stepping into Saravana Bhavan, which is just next door, for some great vegetarian dishes.

Very disappointing experience. Had to shell out INR 4500 + taxes for a so called suit room which is nothing more than a small bed room and a crooked living room. Hot water and aircondition dint work. Had to call reception several times for hot water and air condition to get them fixed. For a small town like Kanchi, this hotel is very expensive and definitely not value for money.

If your looking for a good hotel to stay in this small town, this is the best you can get. The rooms are good and clean... bathroom was clean and comfortable. A/C was working well and I asked for a non-smoking room and I got one.. so there was no bad smell in the room. For INR 3.5K this is good..... the car parking, entry and exit was a bit cramped for space. Food was good.... not very oily but still tasty. Good service as well.... good place to stay. They can put a bigger display board on the road as you tend to miss this hotel entrance which is small in the busy Gandhi road.. !!!
