I reserved a room block for our wedding guests and had to jump through loops to do so. They spelled our names wrong in the computer so our guests were turned away when they went to check in. They were told "no more rooms were available bc Findlay had a big baseball tournament for the weekend." Some of our guests had to make a 2-3hr drive back home because of being told no rooms were available. Some guests were fortunate to find other hotels near by. They charged my debit card $240 because I did not cancel the unused reservations within 24hrs of their stay. I was told when I reserved the block that all rooms not booked within 24hrs would be open to the public. I did not sign any contract and the manager(Melinda) stated it was their policy to charge $40 for each room not filled. According to choice hotels, any room block with 10 or more rooms reserved must have a contract so customers are aware of the hotels policies. Funny thing, all the rooms I reserved would have been full had they spelled my name right and allowed my guests to check in. The general manager would not listen to my issue with this and told me to call 800-4-choice. At one point, I was so upset with the manager I hung up, only for her to call me back to tell me to say, "We have a black box recorder on our phone lines and I will be making a report against you." Very professional right? They would not give me a number to the owners of the hotel, still waiting on a call from them. They even processed the charges as credit the first time for 3 different transactions totaling $240, then refunded my money, only to charge my account as debit transaction 3 days later for 6 transactions of $40. Horrible management! Very rude and would not listen to any of my concerns! Would not recommend this hotel to anyone! I hope this helps make your decision about staying here because they will STEAL your money! I see a lawsuit in the near future if I do not receive a refund!
