We arrived at 9:30 PM and tried to get a room. I rang the bell and waited patiently for 7 minutes, then I rang again. I was offered a room with a king sized bed for $55 with the AARP discount. Then I was told it was no longer available. Then we got one for more (about $70 that supposedly included the discount) that was guaranteed non-smoking. The entire registration process took about half an hour; it seemed that the concierge was having a hard time with everything from answering the phone to using the computer to register us in. Some of the breakfast items were on the counter in open bins in the lobby.
The room wreaked of air freshener that had been clearly used to cover up the smell of smoke. The bathroom was dingy and the shower had not been cleaned. There were cracks in the bathroom floor that were so bad, you could see the subflooring. If the carpets in the room had indeed been vacuumed, then the cleaning staff needs to buy a new vacuum cleaner, as the floor was pretty grimy. On the plus side, about three channels worked on the TV. Internet was also free but in the evening it did not work at all and the next day, the signal was poor and the speed exorbitantly slow (the advertisement stated "hi speed" internet).
Breakfast was said to be offered from 6-9 AM: the same breakfast items I saw the night before were still there (cereals mostly) at 6:30 AM and there was a jar of milk. It didn't seem as the coffee had been made and there was no hot water yet for tea.
All in all, a disappointment and poor value.
