Took my wife here the night of our wedding. The room was nice and worth the price. Late at night when the room upstairs turned on the hot tub it made a LOT of noise and woke us up.
The staff here is GREAT and the facilities are clean, safe, comfortable and functional.
I ended up staying here 4 nights and was so glad I did.
I had a reservation and was going to try and save a few bucks and stay at the nearby Knights Inn but it was really, really SCARY! Sometimes a bargin just isn't! Avoid that place!
The price here my seem a bit steep but you will feel you got your $ worth. Safe indoor entrance to your room. Nice bedding (pillows were awesome!) and towels. We didn't come prepared to use the pool but wish we would have! It looked nice!
A good night sleep in a clean, cozy, SAFE room (so close to the highway this really matters!) and a simple but nice, fresh breakfast in the AM.
A great place to stay!
Good facility, easy to get to, clean rooms, decent pool, very friendly staff. The breakfast was a bit weak, but we didn't mind - it had the basics. We would definately stay here again if we are in Bluffton in the future.
No problems with this hotel. Whatever comments follow are to help the management and owners achieve a standard of perfection, instead of merely excellence. I would stay at this motel again.
A trip in search of vintage auto parts brought me to this area. This motel was closest to where we needed to go. Check-in was prompt and professional. Our room was generously sized. Furnishings were typical Choice Hotels stock. The room did not have a refrigerator or microwave, but I was not expecting one here.
Our mattresses were firm, and overall, the motel oozed cleanliness. Water pressure in the shower was satisfactory, and the only other minor issue with the bathroom I'll discuss later. In the morning, the complimentary Continental Breakfast was fine. The unique attraction here was fresh waffles -- a waffle maker is provided (as of this writing) for one to make a personal Belgian Waffle. No breakfast meats were provided, but hard-boiled eggs, bread, pastries, bagles, fruit, and cold cereal were available.
Additionally, I most heartily endorse this motel's practice of "reasonable" mark-up on vending machine items. In contrast to the extortionate prices many hotels and motels charge, this motel stands out in contrast. While prices on most vending machine items are raised compared to vending machines on the street, several were lower. This reduced the incentive to hit a C-store for a bottle or can of soda pop.
What prevented me from giving this motel a flawless rating was the fact it is becoming a bit shopworn. The carpet, while spotless and clean, was showing signs of fair wear and tear -- from cleaning every day, it looks like. Likewise, the swimming pool and hot tub, while also clean and sanitary, were also showing signs of fair wear and tear. The bathroom of our room -- again, allow me to reiterate, it was spotlessly clean -- nevertheless had some paint flaking off just above the corner of the shower.
Overall, I had an excellent experience, but this motel could go down quite a bit if the owners fail to replace worn-out carpet and paint. In light of the current economic climate, I'm inclined to give the ownership slack. The staff I dealt with were nothing less than excellent, and worth stealing by other motel chains.
