Due to outside influences my wife and I needed to get ourselves recharged. As it was her birthday and I wanted her to have Pace and Quite, Close Encounters seemed what I was looking for. John & Nell were the perfect host, I had arrange 2 separate Massages for my wife on 2 separate days and with that and the serenity, it was a 100% success and she left reluctantly on the Monday after 3 wonderful nights feeling like her old self and had her sparkle back.. If you really and truly want to get away and recuperate then this is the place, and the RAA should make it a 5 Star not 4 Star in our opinion, and both Candice and Karen gave the best needed massage to my wife.

WOW! A hidden gem with loads of extras! Both my husband and I are in the self-catering hospitality business and we were delighted to find Close Encounters B and B/Self-Catering establishment.
Nell and John know how to provide outstanding service, ambience and facilities.
Firstly the place was so clean, well equipped and had loads of room to relax.
All the food provisions were of a high quality and quantity. Our package included the red wine(what a drop), sparkles, chocolate strawberries, yummy biscuits, fruit and a massage.
The view from the patio was so relaxing over their 6 acres of native garden were had dinner outside on the first night. After which we enjoyed a DVD and comfortable sleep.
The bathroom facilities and provisions were better than a 5 star hotel!
We spent 3 nights and all we can say is don't look at any other place to stay in the area,
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS is the best. That is from two guests who have known this business for 20 years. Treat yourself to a place that will recharge the batteries in STYLE!

The other reviews sum up Close Encounters. Nell and John obviously love running the B&B and their passion shines through. My new husband and I ended our honeymoon there and we could not have chosen anywhere more perfect. The B&B is spacious, comfortable and clean as as whistle, with views over the gorgeous garden, the town and all the way to the ocean. Nell and John had thought of every little detail - a stocked fridge (breakfast, cheese platter, chocolate covered strawberries, sweet and savoury biscuits), a bowl of fruit, red wine, champagne, chocolate hearts around the spa, lots of brochures about Victor Harbor and discount vouchers. Awesome TV and DVD collection, very comfy bed. We felt relaxed as soon as we got there and didn't want to leave!! I highly recommend this place to singles, couples and (small) families.

The Bed and Breakfast is a fantastic place for a weekend or more away. The facilities and the location are second to none. Nell and John made our stay very personal and very relaxing. Nothing we asked of them was to hard to acheive. I would recommend to anyone thinking of visiting the area to definately give Nell and John a call. 10 out of 10.
