“2 nights at Coodlie during 'Nullarbor Traveller' perth-adelaide trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Really this review is all about the nullarbor traveller trip, owned by the same family company who run the Coodlie park farm retreat. Independent of which direction you travel on this 9 or 10 day camping extravaganza you have a welcome 2 night stop at coodlie park - the rest is swags only!! The Nullarbor traveller trip was amazing - its a shame they dont yet have a trip advisor page and that the only place to review the trip is on the coodlie park page, but either way the whole experience was amazing. There were a few once in a life time experiences - most of which occured during our couple of days base camping in coodlie park - swimming with wild sea lions, learning to surf (aka covering myself in bruises and swallowing lots of sea water!!), swimming with tuna fish, camping in swags in a private koala sanctuary.........

Our guides were craig and Kim who busted their balls to feed us/ drive us/ entertain us/ look after us/ answer various questions (the only one they couldnt answer was whether dingos wag their tails when they are happy.....??) on our trip which was perth to adelaide.

Overall would highly recommend. Book via their website (www.thetraveller.com.au) rather than the travel agents which means they dont have to pay them commission - as a family run business they too have been affected by the GFC and deserve our support.

One quick note though.... this trip is only suited to those who are young (or at least at heart!!) and who will enjoy 10 days of long travel on a backpacker bus, listening to other backpacker's MP3 players over the stereo, getting dusty/sweaty/ sun creamy and then going several nights without a shower, sleeping in a swag and then rolling it up/ packing the trailer yourself, helping with the cooking/ setting up camp etc and generally enjoying the sillyness which occurs when backpackers go on tour together and become good mates over 10 days. We had a couple of ladies on our trip who didn't seem to get this and its a shame they didnt read the website/ leaflets for the tour because its quite clear what type of holiday this is!

Once in a lifetime experience for the adventurous and the laid back who are willing to be involved in getting their hands dirty and make some great mates.

Room Tip: The main farm building at coodlie is a YHA (only downside - not many showers!) but there is a cottag...

My wife and I stayed here for two nights as part of the nullabor explorer trip and it was a wonderful experience. Beautiful setting, warm and friendly hosts and comfortable rooms. The talk given by the owner was informative and the night tour to see the wildlife was great!

“NullarBORE- we don't think so!!!”

Why would you drive the Nullarbor when you can go with Nullarbor Traveller? Our family of 4 had a blast on our tour and saw so much more than if we had just driven ourselves.
Craig, our guide was the ultimate tour guide, and his knowledge and obvious love of his job was appreciated by all of us on board. Thanks Craig so much.
The highlights would have been the surfing lessons (awesome!), Koonalda Station (sorry about the dunny door guys!), the ocean mist & views from the Head of Bight, sleeping under the stars at Warren Gorge on a perfect night, the kangas at Lucky Bay and all the cool signage along the way! The wombat rescue at Ceduna was also a treat and we hope it will be a permanent addition to the intinerary.
The camping was good, despite having some blah weather, the swags surprisingly comfortable and it was great to have a couple of nights at Coodlie Park Farm, have hot showers and meet the other tour bus. (and see wombats going down holes!)
The food was yummy, and Craig was very challenged with 2 bizarre food allergies on board that he had to cope with!
Thanks to Jo & Hassie, the owners of Nullarbor Traveller and Coodlie Park Farm, for everything, every Aussie should do this tour and see the real Australia!
Thank you also for making our girls so welcome and having no problems about taking them on your tour. They will never forget it, and neither will their Mum & Dad!
Be warned: This IS a REAL camping trip, you are expected to set up/pack up, help with meal preparation etc, and go a night here and there without a shower! But, would we do it again- ABSOLUTELY! The memories will be worth it!

Room Tip: You can also opt to swim with the sealions and dolphins at Baird's Bay

“Nullarbor Travelers 8 days Perth to Adelaide”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

ADVENTURE - would I recommend this trip for everyone? Absolutely not! Was it an experience of a lifetime? Yes This is not a cushy trip, but the sights, wildlife, wildflowers, sandsurfing, swags, and people was an adventure fit for my next book. Have an open-mind and this trip will have you talking about it for years to come.

“Relaxed, fun, friendly, wild with hot showers!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2011

I stayed here for two nights in the middle of the Nullarbor Traveller tour from Adelaide to Perth (also brilliant) and had an amazing time, Hassie and Joe (the owners) are so friendly and helpful.

You can take surf lessons, swim with dolphins and sea lions, go sandboarding and so much else nearby. I'd love to go back.
