Gumtree on Gillies - you've got it all. Beautiful rooms, delicious breakfast, attentive, charming hosts and serene surroundings. Our Egyptian room was so comfortable and we were wishing it was cold so we could enjoy the open fire.The small but thoughtful touches like chocolates, complimentry soft drinks, port, coffee to brew made all the difference between staying at an ordinary motel and Gumtrees.We felt so relaxed and it was hard to come back to the real world. We certainly recommed Gumtrees for your next getaway and we intend to go back next year and try another room destination. Well done penny and Jorg

Peaceful, scenic and very comfortable--this little treasure can do wonders to make your holiday special. The hosts--Jorg and Penny--are very thoughtful and generous. From whipping up a lovely, customosed breakfast every morning to lending you thier BBQ set to spice up a chilly evening, they do it all. The farmland and the brook surrounding the property is charming. The rooms are comfortable and the Yungaburra village has tons of character! Our young kids enjoyed the various animals--from chicken to cows in the meadows to the occassional wallabys that made appearances around the property--to the hilt. All in all, a wonderful holiday for families.

Gumtree on Gillies B&B is one of my most favourite bed and breakfasts. Their location in Yungaburra is a popular weekend spot for local in Cairns, and whenever I'm planning a quick weekend away I always check first if they have a room available, my favourite is the Moroccan Room!

I love this property because they do so many things right. Penny & Jurg are friendly but unintrusive hosts, which means there's plenty of opportunity for romance, and the setting couldn't be more perfect! All the rooms have big open fire places, comfy king-sized beds and spa baths plenty big enough for 2 people. There's nothing quite like the sound of a warm crackling fire with a glass of port and some chocolate.

They location is also great! It's just outside the township of Yungaburra, so it's really quiet. No town noise at all! It's also a really short drive to many of the key scenic features of the region; Curtain Fig Tree, Lake Eacham and Platypus Spotting at Petersen Creek. I always leave wishing I'd stayed a bit longer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in the African themed room. We were seriously tempted to find out if we could stay a couple more nights. We loved the friendly,warm
welcome that was extended to us on arrival & on each occasion that we came in
contact with Penny & Jorg. We also enjoyed the little things like the chocolates & port, fresh
towels each day, the rooms made up every morning to look as if we were entering the room for the first time & the fantastic breakfasts. We didn't want to leave & we
will be back again. We will also have no hesitation in recommending Gumtrees on Gillies B & B to our friends as a place to have a romantic &/or quiet & lovely time away
from the busy lives that we live.
