“An amazing slice of our history... Jurrasic style!”

An amazing experience. Well worth the drive on the unsealed road... In fact it was part of the whole experience! Amazingly well set up. Great access to the hall for all including wheelchairs. So much Information delivered by someone passionate and knowledgeable. Remember to take your food, water and a hat. The morning session was great, not too hot. I imagine it would heat up fairly quickly though. Don't leave this off your itinerary!

“Excellent attraction on outback QLD's Dinosaur Trail - Bring your camera!”

After having visited the Australian Age of Dinosaur's museum in Winton, this attraction completes the picture of dinosaur discovery in the outback. Excellent tour, very informative and easy to get photos taken although you can't actually walk around the footprints. Bring your own food and drinks, there are non for sale. Check road conditions in wet weather as dirt road for last 40klms. I really enjoyed the walk around the beautiful landscape after the tour. Very picturesque mesas.

“Spectacular location, well presented information, and remarkable exhibit”

We drove from Winton to Lark Quarry Dinosaur Trackways, which took a bit under an hour and a half in good weather. The road is dirt most of the way, but in fair to good condition when dry. The landscape is dramatic, with jump-ups or mesas providing every-changing scenery. There are picnic tables near the car park, information displays and also a short, easy walk around the site. However, the main attraction is the hall, with further displays suitable for kids in a foyer area, where you wait before your tour commences. Access to view the actual dinosaur footprints is only by taking part in a paid tour. Our guide was friendly and informative, but best of all, passionate about his subject. The footprints themselves are impressive on their own, but come to life with the guide's explanation. Of interest also is the ecologically sustainable building, which worked well in a mid-winter visit, but could be hot in mid-summer. Younger kids might get bored with the tour, however our dinosaur-mad 10 year old stayed interested throughout.

Well worth the drive. Very interesting and the tour guide is very passionate about this display. We went in mid june and it was a bit cool. Take a pack lunch with you and enjoy looking over the mountains. Glad we went to see this display. There is even a lovely walk you can do after the tour.
