“Beautiful peaceful bush setting”

we have just returned from a small family wedding held at the resort last weekend. The wedding service was held in a delightful setting at the vineyard, and the reception in the small dining room. Most of the guests came from far and wide and stayed at the resort which allowed us to really catch up and enjoy ourselves, and with the cabins placed as they are we all had plenty of privacy. I cannot thank the staff enough, nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend Happy Valley for anyone looking at this venue for a family event such as this.

“Peaceful and cosy”

We just got home from a mid week two night stay at the retreat which we booked through Wotif with a special deal that included a bottle of wine and continental breakfast. The cabins were just wonderful, cosy and comfortable with a great tv/dvd player. The fireplace was a lovely touch as was the verandah. It was peaceful and private and the staff were friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. The retreat itself is about a 5-10min drive from the town centre and located very centrally in the region making it easy to explore the area. Will definitely be back and recommending to friends!

Room Tip: The private cabins are the best!

Hi,
Thank you for writing your review on trip adviser and for your wonderful comments.
I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. The TV/DVD player is always a big hit, as is the log fireplace especially in winter!
Thank you for recommending us and I look forward to seeing you next time.

Thank you,

“Secluded, peaceful, friendly”

We stayed on Monday and Tuesday nights (cheap deals on Wotif for midweek). The cabin was roomy, secluded, clean and comfortable. Lovely to relax on the verandah, and log fire was welcome in the evening. TV/DVD screen could be turned so it could be seen from any point in the room. We were given a bottle of local wine and a basket with copious breakfasts for the 2 mornings. We ate at the restaurant both nights -- few customers midweek but great food. We're planning to stay there again later in the year.

Hi,
Thank you for your lovely comments.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and the chef's are always happy to hear that the food is great. I look forward to seeing you later in the year. The nights will soon be getting cold and you will be able to take full advantage of the log fire.

Thanks,

“Affordable and comfortable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

Overall Happy Valley is a fun place to stay, especially with a few different couples.
There are a number of cabins (about 20 or so) scattered around a large opening surrounded by the trees and bush typical of the Granite Belt. This gives it a bit of a resort or camp feel, boosted by the large building which is home to the restaurant, reception and kitchen.

We stayed here with another couple, with each taking their own cabin. It's affordable, quite central, and the cabins are clean and functional.

If you're looking for boutique accommodation, private cottages, secluded cabins, or personal service this is not where to find it.
If you're looking for somewhere affordable with a restaurant on site for breakfasts and dinner, and a large number of cabins, this is a good option.

“Welcoming and friendly”

We were just passing through Stanthorpe and wanted cabin accommodation for one night. Happy Valley Retreat seemed to be the only place that would allow us a one night stay in a cabin. The reception staff were so welcoming and friendly. The weather was miserable and we were the only couple in the restaurant for dinner but the staff were wonderful, so friendly and the creme brulee was good! The cabin was clean, warm and just what we wanted. We'll definitely return but next time with the group.

Hi Yaldara,

Sorry for the delayed response.

We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay.

Thank you for your lovely comments about our staff.
Our staff always strive to be friendly and welcoming.

November is our quite season, so there are always less people around compared to the winter months. If your next visit is in winter, you definitely would not be the only ones in the restaurant.

We look forward to seeing you next time maybe even with a group of friends.

Thank you,

The Happy Valley Team
