“What a fantastic hidaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 March 2010

Papillon offered us a peaceful and excellent first experience of Australia well off the beaten track, staying three nights in the middle of February. Maureen and Stephen were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome as we walked down the stairs following a very long flight. The room was large with excellent attention to detail, including a small fridge, cutlery, glasses and with locally produced teas & coffees. Even the hammock was so relaxing to lie in. The pool was lovely, very clean, with lots of spots to sit and relax to enjoy the local exotic birds and garden flowers. The breakfast each morning was huge and delicious, which a large fresh fruit platter, local yoghurt and breads which we thoroughly enjoyed each morning whilst chatting to our hosts.
Maureen and Stephen gave us so much information on where to go and even organised our snorkelling trip to the barrier reef which we would recommend to anybody. This ensured that our time with them was so enjoyable given the inclement weather during our stay. This was most appreciated so we would highly recommend. Papillon as an excellent place to chill out and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

“A personal welcome as you walk down the stairs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2010

Papillon offers a peaceful destination only minutes away from Mossman Gorge. We stayed two nights at the end of January. The hosts Maureen and Stephen were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. The rooms are lovely and quite large with excellent attention to detail, including a small fridge, cutlery, glasses and tea/coffee making facilities. The pool was bigger than we expected and very clean, with lots of spots to sit and relax. The breakfast each morning was huge and delicious, we certainly couldn't do it justice!
Probably what impressed us the most was the concern that Maureen and Stephen displayed in insuring that we enjoyed our time which included several emails regarding their concerns with the weather at the time. This was certainly appreciated. We Highly Recommend Papillon and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

“Wonderful retreat with friendly hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2010

This was our favorite bed and breakfast! The rooms are very nice and there's delicious fresh fruit at breakfast. The owners were extremely helpful and gave us many insightful tips for how to best spend our time exploring the area. They are knowledgeable about wildlife and enthusiastic about discussing sitings.

“A hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2010

Accomdatioon was clean, spacious and private. Our own balcony and use of the swimming pool was a real bonus. The property was well positioned for the sight seeing we wanted to do. Maureen and Stephen couldn't have been more helpful in advising us of possible itineries once they determined the types of things that interested us. The breakfasts of tropical fruits and home made breads and cakes were outstanding.

“Best B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2009

We stayed three nights at Papillon - it was our best stay in Queensland. Maureen and Stephen were perfect hosts. The rooms are amazing and the place is just wonderful. There are tons of details to discover. The great breakfast was lovely presented. A fantastic pool and a veranda to chill out.
The hosts are extremely helpful, making a visit of this beautiful area an easy and unique experience.
There is a microwave available but you may not miss the incredible food at Mojo's.
