A perfect place to go to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The units are just across the road from a stunning uncrowded beach, lined with coconut palms, where you can walk for miles and miles or sit and admire the offshore islands that behold over the tropical blue green waters. After a long wet winter in Adelaide it was nice to be warm and spending time in shorts, t shirts, no shoes and bathers....a good thing. You can swim in the pool out front or in the sea. Great to be able to cool down after a day of sightseeing or someother activity that takes your fancy.
South Mission Beach is surrounded by rainforest with prolific bird life including the cassowary. Be warned that South Mission has only the Beachcomber Caravan Park store for any shopping (limited) but the Mission Impossible Shuttle can take you to the Woolworths at Wongaling if you don't have a car. The bottle shop behind Woolies is reasonably priced when compared to southern prices so you won't go thirsty for that evening G&T beside the pool or on the beach at sunset.
Taihoa units are equipped with a two plate ceramic cooktop and microwave with a bbq beside the pool. Enough to self cater. Dining in general is quite good with two Thai restaurants (Nana Thai in Wongaling and Spicy Thai on the Mission Bay - Sth Mission road), Millers Bar and Grill in Wongaling (they have a shuttle service if required) and then a number of casual dining experiences in North Mission Bay eg. Shrubbery, Jetties and 100th Monkey (best breakfast..perfectly cooked eggs and great fresh juices) . For fine dining / more upmarket dining Elandra in Sth Mission, Castaways and Friends in Nth Mission.
Tracey is an excellent host and can organise anything for you. There are little touches that make a holiday and Tracey added those to our experience in addition to quiet suggestions and conversation.
Taihoa is a great place to relax and unwind. Do yourself a favour and go to South Mission Beach and stay at Taihoa.
