My wife and I stayed at Taihoa for four nights and had a great experience. Being right across from the beautiful beach, having tasteful and clean accommodations and a very caring proprietor, Tracey, made it the right respite after a cold, wintry stay in Melbourne! Also, riding one of their bikes on the beach was a unique experience as well. Highly recommend!

A great place to unwind, when the rest of Australia is shivering from the cold. Right across the road from the beach, going for long walks before breakfast is a novel experience for a " city slicker".

The bedroom with spa bath was generous and comfortable. Being at the far south end of the beach meant that there was little traffic noise. If going there, remember to pack in a bottle of wine. Sitting on the balcony, as the sun goes down, looking across the sea ... magic.

Be prepared for a long drive (about 9km) into Mission Beach for shops and restaurants.

From the moment i made the initial contact with Tracey to the day we had to leave the service provided was excellent. Tracey goes above and beyond the role of proprietor with great hospitality and guidance. We stayed from Sunday to Thursday enjoying every moment. We had a group of 4 in the larger suite but all fit fine. Everything was immaculate, we even BBQ'd one evening out by the pool. I recommend this to any Adult couple or group. We were close to the water's edge and since we had no car relied on the beach shuttle which worked out pretty well. I would stay again in a heart beat.

We stayed at Taihoa for just 3 nights but wish it was longer. The unit was well located with a view of the beach and the palms from our unit. The decor was very tastefully done and we especially liked the "pebble floor" in the shower and the king size bed. The location suited us well as we did a couple of the local walks in the National Parks, whitewater rafted on the Tully (nearby) and paddled a kyak to Dunk Island for some beachcombing and snorkelling. Tracy was a terrific host that made us feel very comfortable and even shared a couple of her travelling stories with us. We will have to return one day to "stop and take it easy"! (Taihoa)
