I am sorry that your stay wasn't as you expected. Here at YHA Maroochydore we want all guests to have an enjoyable and memorable experience – We encourage guests to come and enjoy the facilities, explore the surrounding area and meet other like-minded people.

We have a wide range of rooms available at the hostel to cater for the diverse range of guests we have stay with us. On this occasion, having booked a dorm room, we decided to upgrade you to a private family room, as where possible, we try to provide the best room choice and value for money. If you weren't expecting this, the family room layout may have seemed different to what you are used to, but this was only ever intended for your own private use.

As one of the perks of booking a stay with us, we provide a free breakfast between 8-9am – guests are welcome to help themselves between these hours. We put out sufficient amounts of food, but on occasions, this may need topping up, which if brought to our attention we are only too happy to assist with.

Additionally, as you mention we also offer a free BBQ on Wednesday's for all guests, along with free use of fishing rods, boogie boards, kayaks and surf boards and bicycles to hire for a small charge. Because we want guests to get the most out of their stay we also have a number of free daily activities and further perks available for guests to enjoy and we encourage everyone to participate and make full use of them.

We now have a great new team of staff in place who are on hand to help with queries or questions guests may have, I’m sorry if you felt this wasn't the case when you stayed with us.

Response to TripAdvisor asking for the review to be removed as it is from an ex employee which had the same heading but was removed and replaced - I strongly believe this to be an ex employee, terminated for their aggressive behavior and lack of performance.It seems unfair that this review is still viewable given the factual inaccuracies.
