“Absolutly Stunning”

We were supposed to go on a visit to Thailand but the recent flooding caused us to cancel our trip, so with time off work we decided on a mid-week stay on the recommendation of friends. We now owe those friends so much as our stay at Spring Creek was just superlative.

When we arrived around lunchtime we were delighted that they had reserved a table for us in the café in case we needed lunch, and this was on one of the few days that the kitchen is open to the public. We were the only guests staying at the cottages at that time and were treated to the most excellent service by Bev, Jackie and all the staff, nothing seemed too much trouble and everyone looked like they were enjoying their work.

The view from the cottages is outstanding the area is steeped in natural beauty but overall the standout of our stay would be the cooking, Bev and her staff provide meals fit for royalty, the breakfast is bordering on the insane with each part building on the next - the freshly baked croissants are just superb. All meals are of top class restaurant quality with great use of local produce, eggs are fresh on site by the in-house chooks, Bev has gone to great lengths to provide a varied and interesting menu including the best dessert both my wife and I have ever experienced, the made on demand chocolate pudding with homemade marmalade ice cream.

As soon as we returned home we decided to re-book early in the new year for ourselves and my parents.

One tip though is as the cottages are situated about 1000 meters above sea level it can be cool in the evening and early morning, so don’t forget to pack some warm clothes.

Room Tip: All the cottages are similar in layout but one has two bedrooms

“Just perfect (even in bad weather)”

Spring Creek is one of the most wonderful places anywhere we've ever been - and not just in Queensland or even Australia. The location is fantastic, for starters, a beautiful drive up through the forest, views over a huge valley to gorges and hills, and then the cottages and the food are marvellous - very comfortable, spacious accommodation with a woodburning stove. Delicious food both for breakfast and dinner. The owner Bev and her helpers are charming, and she is a most generous hostess.
We were unlucky enough to go just when the weather was at its worst, but still loved it. The Queen Mary Falls are a very short drive away and well worth the visit, as is the little country town of Killarney.
We can't wait to return.

Room Tip: All three cottages have the same wonderful views

I had been longing to find a free weekend when I could visit the well recommended Spring Creek Cottages. Thankfully the day arrived and I was like an eager child peering out the car windows whilst travelling through the winding range, finally atop the range we enter Spring Creek Cafe and Cottages and I am amazed with the picturesque view. At this moment I can't wait to see where we would be staying, politely directed to our Blue Wren Cottage I was blown away, I didn't need to go any further I was in heaven. Of course the urge to eat became overwhelming as I had heard that this was also a gastronomic delight, so we headed back down to the cafe. Beverley and staff presented a meal worthy of any fancy Brisbane Restaurant if not better with the local produce. Retiring for the evening I wondered if breakfast was going to be a standout? It was! Those croissaints OH My God. Just as well there was the Queen Mary Falls for exercise. Thanks Bev a truly lovely place and we'll be back with our friends.
