We were supposed to go on a visit to Thailand but the recent flooding caused us to cancel our trip, so with time off work we decided on a mid-week stay on the recommendation of friends. We now owe those friends so much as our stay at Spring Creek was just superlative.
When we arrived around lunchtime we were delighted that they had reserved a table for us in the café in case we needed lunch, and this was on one of the few days that the kitchen is open to the public. We were the only guests staying at the cottages at that time and were treated to the most excellent service by Bev, Jackie and all the staff, nothing seemed too much trouble and everyone looked like they were enjoying their work.
The view from the cottages is outstanding the area is steeped in natural beauty but overall the standout of our stay would be the cooking, Bev and her staff provide meals fit for royalty, the breakfast is bordering on the insane with each part building on the next - the freshly baked croissants are just superb. All meals are of top class restaurant quality with great use of local produce, eggs are fresh on site by the in-house chooks, Bev has gone to great lengths to provide a varied and interesting menu including the best dessert both my wife and I have ever experienced, the made on demand chocolate pudding with homemade marmalade ice cream.
As soon as we returned home we decided to re-book early in the new year for ourselves and my parents.
One tip though is as the cottages are situated about 1000 meters above sea level it can be cool in the evening and early morning, so don’t forget to pack some warm clothes.
