We were intially impressed with the beautiful villa 3 with its balinese feel. However within 20 minutes of arriving our 4 year old grandson turned off a lamp which was on when we arrived and the electric cable came off, causing a huge spark. Luckily he was not electricuted, but this gave him a huge fright and left a black mark on his hand. We checked all the electric cables to all lamps and found 2 more lamps with exposed wires. We immediately called Pam and she came and took the faulty lamps, but no apology or concern. We were quite shocked. We then proceeded to find other maintenance issues including a number of light bulbs out, the bath changeover valve was stuck, so you could only fill the bath with the shower attachment, the BBQ ignition button was missing and the villa wasn't very clean (we found rubbish and dust under the furniture). The rest of the week was less eventful. The villas are in a beautiful place and even in villa 3 you see the sea and beach, plus we had the pool right behind us. It is small, but not many people in it. There were some loose tiles by the pool, which could be a safety concern, but generally ok. The gardens are well kept and have many frangapani trees and other tropical plants. You hear many different kinds of birds here, some quite noisy, such as the curlew which starts at night... you get use to its whaling noise! One week was enough for us here. There's not a great deal to do here. We rented a Mini Moke for 3 days to see the other bays, Horseshoe bay is the best with more to do and a good beach. Its a shame Nelly Bay doesn't have a swimming enclosure as more people would stay at this beach. There are some good restaurants within walking distance; the Pizza & Pasta one by Foodworks and Man Friday had some excellent food, not much to look at but both worth it and quite cheap. Pure Magnetic has to do some serious maintenance work to these villas before we would return again. What a shame.....
