We went out in the "wet" season on a stunning saturday morning in Feb. The ride out in their fast boat to Mackay Reef was a bit bumpy due to swell, but we got there in about 30 minutes, justifying their "fastest tip to the reef" advertising.
We loved the trip because it was a small group (around 12 - the others seemed so commercialised), the guides were good fun and friendly, and cared about the corals (we got told off for kicking anywhere near them) and informative.
Speaking of coral - best we've ever seen! Also saw turtles, rays and sharks and fantastic giant clams.
Trip was about two hours snorkelling and half hour travel each way.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND the bugers at Boardwalk Cafe - YUM!
