“Lovely villa in picturesque Hepburn Springs”

We stayed in a deluxe king spa villa for 4 nights and it was a wonderful experience. Our package included a free massage in Daylesford (if we purchased 1 massage) as well as a seasonal hamper. The living area was spacious, with high ceilings giving it a spacious feel, a king size bed, good size kitchen.

The fireplace didn't provide much heat, but looked good! We made very good use of the split system, situated in the lounge room, and kept it on 24/7 as it was very cold in June! We had a private balcony overlooking the scenic countryiside, lots of peace and quiet, and our spa was used every night! By the way, there are some lovely views of the countryside from the spa in the bathroom as well...very enjoyable.

We used our car mostly to get around, but a couple of mornings we walked into town, which took around 15 minutes from the Villas. Plenty of great walking tracks in Hepburn Springs, as well as breakfast cafe, Red Star which makes delicious breakfast and coffees. Rubens also serves up lovely pizza!! The service was very friendly.

I would highly recommend Hepburn Villas to couples wanting peace & quiet, a cosy and luxurious environment to escape day to day life & unwind. Daylesford and Hepburn Springs are beautiful places to explore in Victoria. I feel very fortunate to live only an hour away from this region.

“Will be back for sure.”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the 'Lucini' deluxe king villa. The villa was very well kept and the property has been beautifully maintained. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, although do be aware there are no ovens in the deluxe king villas. We thought the hamper was of great quality local produce. The owner rang the day we were arriving to ensure we had everything we needed as they are not on site which was great.

The location was nice and peaceful with great views from each of the rooms. The villa has ample heating, which came in handy. Would definitely recommend a visit.

If you're concerned about cost, we went for their 3 night midweek package (Sunday to Thursday nights) which was only $150 per night and included a two for one massage at the Daylesford Day Spa and a hamper on arrival.

“Nice weekend getaway, but pricey, and a bit oversold.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2010

We stayed in the "Lucini" Deluxe King Spa Villa for a weekend. We arrived from Melbourne, after a quick stop for lunch in Daylesford, and at first I second-guessed my sat-nav when it took me down a narrow gravel road with plenty of run-down-looking houses. But no, that's actually where Hepburn Villas is located. Not a big deal, but a bit disconcerting at the start. I must say, though, that the Hepburn Villas property was well maintained.

The Good:

The bed was super-comfortable, for both sleep and other things. The spa in the bathroom was really nice. That's really what we went there for.

I can't comment on the springs in the area, as, apart from a visit to the supermarket and the local fish & chips shop, we didn't leave the house.

The breakfast hamper had a mix of müsli, biscuits, bath salts, and a few other things. These were of pretty good quality. The spa looked a bit dirty after we left, as the bath salts didn't fully dissolve (there were crystals in the bottom of the tub), and the foam left a purple line around the edges.

Breakfast on the verandah was nice, and there was a resident magpie to keep us company.

The Bad:

There was nothing terribly wrong. There were just a few things that were annoying.
The first was that the carport was not lit, which made it a pain to park after dark.

The rest were not real problems in my opinion, but, as a matter of principle, I object to false advertising:
* I always thought a "villa" was a detached building. This was half of a double-house. In fairness, though, for the most part we couldn't hear the people in the other half of the house.
* The "DVD Library" advertised on the website consisted of three never-heard-of-them bargain-bin movies, and a Mythbusters promotional disc.
* The kitchen being "fully equipped" was a bit of a stretch. Let's just say that, when we went to cook dinner, there were enough utensils to do exactly one thing at a time.

I was also rather shocked when I found out how much the place had cost -- my girlfriend invited me, and I didn't look up the price until a few weeks after we went. It was nice, but I wouldn't have paid $500+ for two nights at this place. My girlfriend tells me that this is just how much such places cost. This is the only such place in which I've stayed. All my other travels have taken me to hotels and bed-and-breakfasts, so perhaps I was just shocked by the price relative to what I've paid for hotels in Europe.
