“Disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

My partner took me to Hepburn Villas last weekend for my birthday, as I have worked in the industry, this is the first holiday he booked for us.

He booked us into a Queen Spa Villa. The villa had many light bulbs blown, there was only one wine glass (we ended up drinking red wine out of tumblers) and the worst part was there was no plug for the spa. He had paid more specifically so we could make use of the spa, as you can imagine he was very disappointed and it put a dampener on the weekend.

What is worse, he called to seek a refund for the difference between the standard villa and the spa villa and was told bluntly that refunds weren't given.

As a result we would never return here nor recommend to anyone else.

“Great location, spacious as a three bedroom villa, comfortable and better than anticipated”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 May 2011

Accommodation very well thought out and made a lovely spacious three bedroom villa by joining two one bedroom villas with an extra twin room between the two adjoining doors (presumably so that either could be a one or two bedroom villa).

The weather was fairly cold and the gas fires in both villas had been left on which was appreciated! There were also electric blankets on the beds, which was great as the only heating was in the front room of each villa.

The welcome 'hamper' was very well thought out and had lovely produce, which again was appreciated.

Everything was clean and comfortable, the only comments I have were a couple of odd things missed - the table lamp in the twin room wasn't plugged in and the plug was damaged, and the door handle in the twin room was partially hanging off the door - nothing devastating but just the difference between four and five stars as everything else was great.

Loved having a separate toilet and shower/bath in each villa, plenty of facilities for everyone.

The SMS check-in used by the owners is really, really clever too as you don't need to find anyone, you can get straight into the villas whenever you arrive - a bonus after a long drive.

Overall I would be happy to stay here again if I wanted self-catering accommodation.

“What a disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2011

Found the accommodation very disappointing. Over priced and very dirty inside. Would not stay at Hepburn Villas again. If you are planning a girls weekend away or a family get away I recommend you seek alternative accommodation.

“Lovely villa in picturesque Hepburn Springs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2011

We stayed in a deluxe king spa villa for 4 nights and it was a wonderful experience. Our package included a free massage in Daylesford (if we purchased 1 massage) as well as a seasonal hamper. The living area was spacious, with high ceilings giving it a spacious feel, a king size bed, good size kitchen.

The fireplace didn't provide much heat, but looked good! We made very good use of the split system, situated in the lounge room, and kept it on 24/7 as it was very cold in June! We had a private balcony overlooking the scenic countryiside, lots of peace and quiet, and our spa was used every night! By the way, there are some lovely views of the countryside from the spa in the bathroom as well...very enjoyable.

We used our car mostly to get around, but a couple of mornings we walked into town, which took around 15 minutes from the Villas. Plenty of great walking tracks in Hepburn Springs, as well as breakfast cafe, Red Star which makes delicious breakfast and coffees. Rubens also serves up lovely pizza!! The service was very friendly.

I would highly recommend Hepburn Villas to couples wanting peace & quiet, a cosy and luxurious environment to escape day to day life & unwind. Daylesford and Hepburn Springs are beautiful places to explore in Victoria. I feel very fortunate to live only an hour away from this region.

“Will be back for sure.”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the 'Lucini' deluxe king villa. The villa was very well kept and the property has been beautifully maintained. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed, although do be aware there are no ovens in the deluxe king villas. We thought the hamper was of great quality local produce. The owner rang the day we were arriving to ensure we had everything we needed as they are not on site which was great.

The location was nice and peaceful with great views from each of the rooms. The villa has ample heating, which came in handy. Would definitely recommend a visit.

If you're concerned about cost, we went for their 3 night midweek package (Sunday to Thursday nights) which was only $150 per night and included a two for one massage at the Daylesford Day Spa and a hamper on arrival.
