We recently ate dinner at Mercato and were really impressed. The atmosphere was friendly and the decor tasteful. The waiters were attentive but discreet. The food was lovely. We were recommended this resturant by the owners of the B&B we were staying at and we can see why they liked going there themselves. On Monday nights they have a 'locals special' which is a main meal (we had a choice between 5 dishes) and a glass of wine for $25.00. The overall dining experience here was the best that we experienced during our trip to Victoria.

Absolutely divine...... I would travel from Melbourne to eat this meal and travel back without feeling like I wasted my time!!!

We had a very good meal here and will recommend it 100% - but the dishes are not special or adventurous. Mercato comes a definite 3rd after Kazuki's and Perfect Drop. However - go and you will not be disappointed.

We dined at Mercato on consecutive nights, so impressed were we. The first night we didn't get to try dessert. Ambience and service are wonderful and the place is not stiff and starchy but h a formality. The food is regional, interesting and top class, from jellied smoked eel to spicy quail, delicious Tuki lamb loin and the huge sweet pork chop. We loved the ginger brûlée. I'd suggest booking on weekends. The wine list offers some less well known local / regional drops worth exploring even by the glass.
