“Like your friends own a 5 star hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

This was one of the most amazing stays ever!
As soon as you enter balconies it feels immediately like you are staying with friends who have a room and service like a 5 star hotel!
The rooms are spacious and very nicely decorated and very clean. The minibar is filled and has VERY reasonable prices. The breakfast is great. The living room offers loads of really good movies for the DVD-player in the room. The owners treat you like a friends from the minute you walk in. Since it is such a lovey place, everybody moves like you stay with friends, very very quiet.
And since I hve travelled 4 weeks throughout Australia I have to say: Trvellers, do not miss Daylesfored, its such a lovely place!

“Very relaxing weekend away!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We had a great time this weekend staying at Balconies.

We booked our weekend away last minute and Michael and Russell were very accommodating and were helpful with restaurant recommendations (in our confirmation email and again in person when we arrived - offering to call to check booking availability).

On arrival, Michael took the time to show us a map of the area and outline the key attractions and his recommendations.

We booked a King room (unfortunately we booked late and there weren't any rooms with a balcony available). The room was adequately sized and well appointed including a tv and DVD player, air conditioning and bathroom amenities.

Breakfast was included and was delicious. We sat out on a balcony overlooking the property - a great view. Breakfast consisted of juice, tea or coffee, fruit, cereal and muesli and a selection of hot breakfast options - we tried the blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and the 'healthy option' of toast with avocado, poached eggs and tomato relish.

Room Tip: Worth asking if any of the rooms with balconies are available.

“Excellent and relaxing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

If you visit Daylesford, you won't be dissapointed with Balconies. We stayed in the compact room, which was a bit small. But the breakfasts and the place was lovely. And the service excellent! Highly recommended!

“Very charming place”

It's a very calm and quiet place, with nice rooms and a great breakfast. The hosts were very nice. They have lots of DVDs in the lobby you can borrow for a night in, which was great, but unfortunately the TV in the room was tiny. The spa was nice, but a bit cold (they said it was set to 38C, but we found out that is was set to 30C which couldn't be changed, which made it a bit too cold).

Also, for some reason, there was no door to the bathroom/toilet in the room we stayed, which we found a bit odd (prudes beware!).

We always welcome feedback from our guests and are gratified to learn that these guests enjoyed their accommodation and breakfast. In order that guests are able to enjoy our extensive DVD collection most rooms have wall mounted TV’s with built-in DVD players – this limits the size of TV we can install (there aren’t that many large ones on the market) as does the size of the room. The viewing screen in the Compact Queen Room where these guests stayed is 21.5 inches (55cms) from corner to corner. In these days of mega flat screen TVs this may be small but is perfectly appropriate for this particular room. We have other rooms with 42 inch (107 cms) plasma TVs and more living space which are more expensive.

The spa is preset to 38C – when moisture gets underneath the digital display 38C can appear as 30C. The controls are locked & tamper proof to stop individuals adjusting the temperature.

The Compact Queen Room & one of the King Rooms have no door to the bathroom – the rooms were designed that way when the house was built.

“Everything you want and more..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Just returned after staying two nights ... The owners were friendly, knowledgable (giving great advice about places to eat and visit) The breakfast was deliscious...We even had a kookaburra sit on the edge of the balcony to watch us all . The rooms were beautiful ..So clean, and fresh as the air we breathed . Thanks for providing such a peaceful, relaxing place for us to stay..
