“An Unforgettable Stay in Daylesford!”

My partner and I stayed in the Queen Room at Pendower House - beautifully decorated, warm and very inviting after a full day of taking in the sights! The Pendower House owners, Renee and Irene were incredibly helpful and warm, always giving us great ideas of how to best spend our time in 3 days. Even before we got here, Renee sent me a lot of information about Daylesford which helped me plan for the trip well.

Breakfast - as many of the reviews can attest to - was outstanding! We stayed here for 2 nights and the breakfast menu differed on the 2 days. The cooks are certainly committed to using the best and freshest produce... it was unforgettable! Breakfast on the first day was served in the lounge room (really nice and private) and on the second day, it was served in the living area overlooking the garden plus 3 hens :)

I really liked the location of Pendower House: 5 minutes walk to the main street with shops and a short drive to the lake, convent gallery and Hepburn Springs.

I highly recommend Pendower House and will definitely return!

“Very comfy B&B with a delicious breakfast”

My partner and I have just come back from a short trip in Daylesford and we both loved our stay in Pendower House. We stayed 1 night in a Queen Room but I wish we could have stayed another!

The location of Pendower House is great -- it is one street away from the main street and an array of cafes, shops, etc, and Lake Daylesford is a short walk away. When we arrived there were chocolates on our bed and lamingtons and truffles in the sitting room. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated, and the bed was one of the most comfortable that I have slept on. The sitting room had a log fire and an impressive collection of books, so after dinner my partner and I were able to curl up on the couches and read, play some board games and watch a DVD.

Breakfast the next day was cooked to order and was divine -- we had warm crepes with yoghurt to start, followed by scrambled eggs on multigrain toast, all accompanied by fresh orange juice. Other options were also available (eg cereal, muesli).

Overall it was a wonderful stay and when I visit Daylesford again I wouldn't hesitate to return to Pendower House. The only thing to keep in mind when booking is that the rooms (Queen Room, Double Room etc) share the sitting room -- when we visited the other rooms weren't occupied so we had the sitting room to ourselves, but this isn't always the case. If you want a TV and lounge area all to yourself, it's best to book the Spa Apartment.

“Perfect home away from home :)”

Although I'm not the B&B type, this was bought as a gift from my partner and has certainly changed my stance... I'm converted :) ... The breakfasts were amazing (and I'm very fussy so this is saying something) The hosts were great, were there when you needed them but made themselves scarce when you didn't ( a perfect balance) It shows that renee has been doing it long enough to read her guests well) They have such a passion for it and it shows. The location was good, walking distance to all the main points of interest in town, and close enough to wander back from a few Vinos at Horvats wine bar on Howe street ( a must for those of you who enjoy a wine or 2). The resident cat fluffy kept us entertained as he tried in vain to get into the breakfast room each morning as did the chickens :)... Well now I have discovered this little gem, I'm sure i shall be visiting daylesford more often now.

“Fabulous stay, attentive & informative hosts”

We stayed over the 2011 labour Day weekend and found Pendower House location ideal for a 3 day stay. Esp..visiting the Convent Gallery, the shops (the clothing one near the roundabout. They have excellent shoe range.) and the book shop in the main street. We followed the girls advice and went to Horvats for pizza and a few glasses of wine as well as a bar meal The Farmers Arms hotel. We had continental breakfast each morning with something different each day, savoury/sweet crossiants, very nice home made quiche as well as our mandatory morning coffees. We had a lovely stay in Daylesford,

“Rude owners can't be bothered to work during one of the biggest weeks of their year”

We paid a not insignificant amount to stay here during Daylesford's CHillOut Festival last year. Upon arrival we were met by the owners who, without even bothering to let us get to our room and drop our bags first, told us they had lots on as it was ChillOut and they had a busy social schedule, so we wouldn't be getting the cooked breakfast we had already paid for, and that they wouldn't be around much. The first morning we got stale Brumbys croissant for breakfast and fruit juice/muesli/. We paid for cooked breakfast> The next day all there was was museli and juice. They also didn't clean our room once in three days, o r clean the rest of the cottage. The cottage itself is very good quality and great location, but the service is rude, slack and pitiful for the money. RUined what was suppose dot be a luxury trip away.

Thank you for your comments.
ChillOut is one of Daylesford busiest weekend and as part of the organising committee i certainly didn't realise i was implying my social schedule was more important than your visit, rather, it was going to be a hectic weekend and if i wasnt always available our other host would be.
I am glad that you enjoyed the festival and returned for this year.

I will look into the stale food as we buy all the danish pastries, crossiants from Bakers Delight on the morning of your breakfast.

I understand it was a year since your stay and appreciate your comments.
Daylesford is really a delightful destination.
