I surprised my husband with a two night getaway to this beautiful place, located about a minute from the main street of Daylesford. As soon as we walked through the front door of of the Linton Spa Aparment, we were instantly relaxed!! The apartment was modern, spotless and warm with a gorgeous circular spa.

It was a cold, wet and windy couple of days which was just perfect for us to sit inside and look out of the massive picture windows out to a stunning and colourful garden scattered with gold and red leaves and the most beautiful trees. I found the cost to be most reasonable and Darren was very helpful and accomodating.

We love going out for dinners but in this case we actually bought dinner out to come back to the apartment and heat and/or cook and eat inside! The kitchen is modern with all facilities. Our breakfast provisions were fresh (and delicious!) I have to say that we totally enjoyed the whole experience and even felt that two days was too short to explore beautiful Daylesford. The location is terrific, and I cannot fault anything about the place.

I've told all our friends about this beautiful place and we're looking to go back there in Spring and once again plan to just sit and relax and take in that most gorgeous garden and the tranquil surrounds.

If you are reading this, do yourself a favour, head down to Daylesford & experience the Linton Spa apartment at Azidene House.

From the moment we arrived to our reluctant departure, my hubby & I were just in love with the place. Our gorgeous fully self contained apartment with HUGE spa was great. It was a quirky combination of warm & comfy yet funky & fun. Bright, clean and so well appointed we really wanted for nothing. Really, our lovely host had thought of everything, from brekky provisions, to places to sit in the sun, to suggestions for local activities, restaurants, galleries and pampering!

And the view - on one side such a lovely view of the Daylesford Lake and on the other, the beautiful gardens of Azidene House. We found so many beautiful spots dotted throughout the garden where we could just sit & contemplate & sip on our glass of chardy! We will definitely be back!

We take weekend breaks in Daylesford on a regular basis and Azidene is our favorite place to stay. You couldn't hope for a better location to everything. While they provide the makings for breakfast it is only a very short stroll to cafes and restaurants. Azidene is what it is a great place to rest and relax, comfortable and with a cosy at home feeling. Its best part is the fact it is older and inviting. When we stay anywhere we seek out a homely place not a pretentious cold boutique and homely describes Azidene to a "T". The price is perfect for what you get. Daylesford accomadation can be expensive and for the extra dollars you pay to stay elsewhere in Daylesford you do get a fresher newer feel. Azidene is location, location, location and a taste of the old.

After the excellent reviews we had great expectations.

The entire complex is in need of maintenance. The garden is very sad and the building desperately needs painting. The walk from the driveway to the front door is quite dangerous, especially after rain. We returned from dinner after dark and there are no lights at all and the path and lawn were very slippery.

The security of the doors and windows is virtually non existent with very flimsy door and window locks. If you go out, the curtain on the main clear glass door pulls across from the inside, so cannot be used.

Inside the apartment is no better. The carpet is torn in several places, there are cracked tiles around some of the taps, and part of the bathroom door has not even been painted. This same door is so noisy it must wake up other guests. Again, painting of the entire interior is desperately required. There is one very small wardrobe for two people, one door does not open and the other one cannot be closed because the clothes hangers are too wide. We ended up putting our clothes on the lounge - hardly satisfactory. The TV is very old and tiny.

Breakfast provisions were left in the room. Cereal and jams were normal packets and jars from the supermarket. Would have expected better. Also, several of the plates and coffee plunger needed washing before use.

Worst B&B we have experienced anywhere.
