Carrington House is absolutely lovely. It felt very much like home, with guest lounges, tea, coffee, home made biscuits and port. The room was very clean and tastefully decorated. My hosts were able to recommend places for dinner and sightseeing ideas. Being in Daylesford, I had considered skipping breakfast and heading in to a cafe. VERY glad I didn't! Breakfast at Carrington was as good as any cafe, but with the luxury of feeling at home. I really couldn't fault this bed and breakfast, and I will definately be returning.

Bed and breakfast that didn't offer us breakfast, just some tea and coffee in a shared loungeroom...sauna was nothing more than a converted shower, staff were very unpleasant, the husband actually insulted and mocked us. I have never experienced hosts to be that awful and I hope never to again.

This B&B was rated 4.5 stars. I have stayed at 4.5 star B&B's before and this is definitely not one.
In these modern times there are certain things that are expected of 4.5 star establishments - free Wi-Fi, digital TV, flat screen TV, maybe even Foxtel. The TV in the room was too small to watch, no digital stations and we couldn't even watch the ABC.
Staying in a B&B in Daylesford - spa country - you don't expect paper wrapped soap and home brand hand wash in the bathroom. It wouldn’t be difficult to have a few bottles of nice smelling creams and soaps in the room.
We couldn't make a cup of tea in our room - so in the morning I had to have a shower and get dressed to get a cup of tea - so much for relaxing! Then there was breakfast - a choice of two quiches, a bowl of cereal and toast. Limited choices and no chance given to ask for more toast.
Overall the experience was disappointing and our expectations were not met on any level. I won’t be going back and won’t be recommending it to my friends and family.

We stepped out for an hour, only to find our room had been invaded by ants. The proprietor acted surprised, yet it later turned out that this had been a problem previously. As it turned out, there was a fairly large crack underneath the windowsill that they had neglected to fix, and that is where the ants were coming in. No room change or discount was offered. Way overpriced and definitely one to avoid.
