We stayed at the Staion Guest House for one night, having never stayed at a B&B in Daylsford before. We arrived to check in and right away were told that we were too early (it was just after 1 and I hadn't noticed that on our booking confirmation check in was 2 - so that was my mistake). After appearing and acting quite put out the owner / manager (Linton?) allowed us to check in. He showed us to a lovely room but without a bathroom. My booking was for a room with an ensuite which I said to him. He said it wasn't and that this was all we could have. Luckily I'd printed out my confirmation and showed him that I'd booked a room with ensuite, not shared facilities. He said that my confirmation was wrong and that he'd have to update the site I booked through (which was their own site!!). Eventually he showed us to another room, which was really really tiny and dark but at least had a bathroom.
The room was clean but so small. The bed was really springy and made a lot of noise if you tried to move. The property itself was very nice and the communal lounge very nicely decorated. Breakfast was not included, which surprised me for a B&B but like I said, we haven't stayed in Daylsford before so maybe this is normal (next time I would check though). There was a kettle in the room and some intanst coffee sachets and tea bags (milk was out in the communal area).
Overall an ok stay, but with so much choice in Daylsford I wouldn't stay here again.
