The place was average - largish room, weird decor, a bit out of town but nice and close to the Farmer's Arms hotel (bonus). Just expected something a little more polished for Daylesford. Brekky was simple. Atmosphere and decor lacked finesse and style.

Absolutely loved this place. So comfortable and full of old world charm. I am coming back soon. Great position near market and station. Beautiful fire place and antiques. Nice host who treated us very well.

My husband had booked us a deluxe room, but when we arrived we were told someone else had booked the room before us so we had been downgraded to a standard room. The room we were shown was so small, we could barely walk around the bed. So much for the open fire & antique furnishings we were looking forward to! The proprietor had not tried to contact us or offered an apology or any concesssions; he indicated we should be happy because the room was slightly cheaper! We may have stayed if he'd offered free breakfast or something, but we left without using the room and got a refund.

Made a booking for a queen room in December 2010 for the March 2011 wedding of a very close friend. We don't get away a lot as we have busy work commitments, so we were really looking forward to hanging out at the Station House and relaxing.

When we arrived on Saturday, 8 March, we were told that we had been relocated to their 'sister organisation' which was around 2km away. It was a motel on a mini-golf course - with none of the amenity of the Station House. We were furious but not given any choice.

The other hotel was clean and functional and the manager was lovely, but we were very unimpressed with the Station House. We will be making a formal complaint through Fair Trading as they have broken contract law, in my view.
