“Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

Stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay (Sun Hol offer) Rooms basic but very clean, plenty towels, hot water and drink making facilities. Food was lovely we had evening meals and breakfast on both days, Staff really nice and helpful, bar was a pub type atmosphere and very comfortable. The only downside was the two boys with a family party running wild up and down the corridors (not the hotels fault) but was very annoying. Great location near Silloth on the coast or Carlisle for a great shopping trip. I would recommend Wheyrigg Hall.

“Basic Accomodation but lovely food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

Stayed for one evening and had a nice stay. Although on arrival we walked into the bar to check in which was full of men watching horseracing on Channel 4 and shouting at the TV. Slightly intimidating although the lady behind the bar apologised for the noise. The room was basic but clean, with tea and coffee facilities, plenty of towels and the shower was nice and hot. We had a lovely meal in the evening. The food and service was very good, comfortable and relaxing night sleep then up for a lovely breakfast.

“Great Place to Stay”

We stayed for one night and the room was very cosy, clean, comfortable and spacious with TV, tea & coffee. Plenty hot water and towels, and the bed and pillows were SO comfy!

Our family joined us here for an evening meal (they were holidaying in nearby Silloth) and as always the food was excellent (steak cooked to perfection!). All locally sourced produce and great prices. The staff even went out of their way to provide dishes for the kids which weren't on the menu! We were so full we couldn't manage breakfast the next morning!!! (Pity, I imagine it would have been fab!)

The bar and dining area are very homely and traditional, and the staff are so friendly land helpful. We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in the area. The location is great - 20 mins from The Lakes, 15 mikns from Carlisle, and 10 mins from the Solway Coast.

Forget your 'new build' hotels - this is the place to go!

“Friendly and great value”

We stayed for 1 night during our motorcycle tour of the lakes. Great value at £64 b&b for the 2 of us. Had a very good evening meal and the breakfast was lovely. Due to the price we didn't expect much but were very surprised with the level of friendly service. The rooms are adequate and very clean. You normally get what you pay for but this place gives excellent value for money and if we're ever staying in the area again we'll book in a flash. Only downside is the thin Walls, not the best for romance!

“Friendly, clean and tidy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

Stayed here for a night in August 2011.

Room was clean and tidy and OK for a night. Wifi was free and super fast which was a bonus.

The pub has a good range of beers and the locals were friendly.
