This was a great experience. The suite is in a self contained barn extension to the main house. The bed was very comfortable, the bedding was crisp and fresh, the pillows and duvet were plump and delicious, a good nights sleep was guaranteed. The housekeeping was immaculate and the attention to detail was fantastic. There were lovely Moulton Brown products in the bathroom. The sitting room was very relaxing with two large sofas, a good television and a very diverse CD collection or an ipod docking station if you prefer. Chilled Evian, some amazing chocolates and fruit among other things were all placed for us help ourselves to.
We took supper in the evening on both the nights that we were there. We were given super food, all organic and great quality, well cooked and nicely presented. Our breakfasts were equally delicious and we were able to choose what time we would like to eat.
Port Carlisle is on the Solway Firth not far from Carlisle - we enjoyed the drive down the estuary, the scenery is delightful. Apparently the lamb from the salt marshes tastes delicious although we didn't try it.

What really made it so unusually lovely though was the kindness and thoughtfulness of the owner - she turned what was scheduled to be fairly functional trip into a wonderfully relaxing and very enjoyable break.
