Just back from a two night stay at this hotel. Room was very comfortable and well furnished. Breakfast as stated in the previous reviews was excellent with a very wide range of fruit and a lovely fried breakfast. Hotel is very well positioned being handy for the town and within easy walking distance of the railway station. If you are looking for good pub food we ate at the Stan Laurel pub which is also within walking distance of Virginia House and which we would highly recommend. There is also a very good Italian restaurant opposite the Virginia. Would definitely go back to Virginia House Hotel if ever visiting Ulverston again.

Stayed two nights in this lovely little hotel. The atmosphere is so welcoming and the staff were always very friendly and helpful. The selection for breakfast was amazing and even though I have travelled a lot with work and stayed at a great amount of hotels I don´t think I´ve ever had as good a selection as at Virginia. I have no doubt I will choose this hotel whenever I come back to Ulverston. Also have to say I loved the surrounding with lovely scenery. Ulverston itself was a charming place with some lovely places for food and drinks. My personal favourite amongst them was the Farmers which had a great selection of dishes and very service minded staff. Altogether, our stay in Ulverston was just brilliant. Thanks to all of you!

We have stayed many times and are surprised at the rating, so it is time to do our review. We think this is the best place in Ulverston bar none. The welcome is so warm & friendly, the rooms are extremely well maintained & comfortable, but the breakfast is amazing! What a buffet to start with and followed by the best full English you can imagine. No small wonder it is often difficult to make a booking as it is so popular.
Everything in Ulverston is within walking distance, with a pay & display car park 2 mins walk away. Ulverston has so much choice for pubs and restaurants, it's often difficult to choose.

The owner was very pleasant and the room perfectly adequate.
Very clean room and ensuite.

Perfectly placed in town within walking distance of all pubs and amenities.

The breakfast was excellent with a wide range of fresh fruits and then a lovely fry up. Perfect.
