This is my 2nd review for this hotel. I stayed in April and it was great. Seven months on and what a change!
Food is terrible. Had four meals there (Staying there for work so everything already paid) and every time it was below average. Service is terrible and in 1 1/2hrs we got a cold starter and a steak which was over cooked. Looks like all the staff that were there in April have left.
Rooms used to be really nice with free wi-fi but this time round the wi-fi was unable to be used and kept dropping out and had very poor signal and the bathroom constantly smelt of sewage which made the room smell lovely! Teabags and milk were not topped up and bins not emptied every day
All in all well below average which is a shame as the hotel was really good on our first visit but the biggest downfall is the food. You need to fire the cook and get a chef in!

This hotel is one of the best i have ever stayed in - great rooms, great food and fantastic staff who are all very friendly, attentive and polite.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, good food and value for money.

Hartford is a lovely village and there is a lack of quality eating establishments, this doesnt fill the void. The staff are really nice, the drinks were normal but the food was absolutely repulsive. The Management agreed and we didnt have to pay for it, It is such a shame that the food let this place down. If you have no choice please just order something that you could easily cook at home, you will still be disappointed but atleast it will be bareable. Dont say you weren't warned.

Stayed one night to go to a birthday party locally. Room was OK with an interesting slope from the window to the door. Bathroom was immaculate and the room decor was fresh.
Breakfast was excellent, well cooked and full English..PLUS THE ADVANTAGE OF FREE wIfI.
