The Travelodge Crewe is 5 mins in a taxi from Crewe Train Station. The taxi rank is directly outside the station doors, and costs £5.33 (a very odd fare). On arrival we were met by a friendly receptionist who checked us in very quickly. The rooms are standard Travelodge style rooms. Tea and Coffee and milk is provided in the room. However the inside of the kettle was either rusted or had something boiled in it that shouldn't have, so I didn't use it.
I found the mattress on the bed very uncomfortable. It seemed to dip in the middle and was past it's best. I considered switching to the bed/settee which was in the family room I was allocated.
Make sure you take shower gel/shampoo as this is a budget hotel, it is not included in the room. A small bar of soap for washing hands etc is included.
Within the car park area of the hotel there is a Chinese Takeway, Subway, Co-op and a pub called The Duke of Gloucester.
There were no reception staff at the desk for check out, just a sign saying that they were away from reception, and to ring the bell if we needed assistance.
All in all, you get what you pay for, and I would stay again if I needed a bed for the night in Crewe.
