“One night is plenty”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We stayed at this Lodge as we had an early morning flight. We booked purely on the price being cheap and its location to the airport. We arrived in late evening, checked in fairly quickly and give our breakfast order. Room was fairly clean, nice bathroom, fresh towels etc. Breakfast was also average, served at a time you request. Taxi from here to the airport is around £8.Note there is no shops or places to eat anywhere nearby so if you need an evening meal your probably best ordering a taxi to take you somewhere.
Overall this lodge is good if your only staying a night or so due to needing to be close to the airport.

“Comfortable stay”

We stayed at the Pymgate Lodge due to it being close to the airport as we were inbetween flights. We were not disappointed at our choice. At our request they called a taxi to collect us from the airport. When we arrived it was quite late and we just wanted to get some sleep. Check in was easy. We were shown to our family room which was very nice. Home from home. Big comfortable double bed and two singles with en suite. We had a wonderful nights sleep and the cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious. Valentina was very kind and helpful and wonderful with our children. Although checkout was 11am she let us stay for longer as our flight wasn't until 3pm and we had nowhere else to go! I would recommend this place to anyone.

“the only good thing about it is it is near Manchester airport”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

stayed an overnight here before going on holiday to Malaysia- it was just somewhere near the airport. First impressions it looked ok at 9 pm after travelling down from Scotland we were tired.
Family room was ok but cramped. I still could not follow instructions on how to put tv on , thank goodness for teenagers. Trip was in Oct 2011, room cold, bed uncomfortable, but clean.
NO hot water to shower in, this was the reason we stayed overnight so we could be fresh for our journey the next day. We had arranged breakfast for 6am as b'fast was included in the deal.
On arriving and speaking with the receptionist she informed us that b'fast was at 7am and we could not get it earlier as she would need to come back to the hotel earlier,as you can imagine i was not to happy, but in her defence she did arrive at 6 am to give us breakfast, which was very kind of her.

Room Tip: don't, plug on wall loose where kettle was situated

“Nearly good!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

With a bit of a clean (primarily the carpet and shower) this would be a great little place. On the whole though, my room was well furnished and was tidy enough. Had a decent fry up in the morning too. Cheadle (or Herald Green) is certainly not Manchester City centre, but this was good for me as I was just there for a meeting in Didsbury.

“Absolutely appalling”

Arrived here late at night having travelled quite some distance and was very tired. Was kept waiting around for over half an hour while staff checked my details with absolutely no explanation or apology. Finally, I was basically thrown out and told that they had booked my room out to someone else with very little apology and despite the fact I had paid a deposit and had a legitimate reservation through laterooms.com! This hotel obviously has some problem with its internal booking systems as I had made them aware I was going to be arriving late and have never experienced anything like this before. All I can say is BEWARE if you're travelling from far away to stay here - you may just end up out on the streets!
