“Excellent value”

I have stayed at The Highwayman on my own due to business comittments through Dec 2011. Firstly, plenty of parking space and a good safe location on the outskirts of Dunstable, away from the town centre but close enough to travel in if you wish.

Rooms are kept very clean and tea/coffee making facilities freeview tv, towels and even a handheld hairdryer are all supplied in the room. The hotel is very popular for contractors working within the area but dont let that put you off. The double room i booked was very cosy and warm with a minimal amount of noise.

The pub/restaurant is separate from the hotel within 1/2 min safe walking distance away with a very reasonably priced no frills good food menu along with sky tv, pool table, Atm machine and plenty of seating, open or secluded.

Staff were excellent in both the hotel and restaurant, not a brand image type accomodation, but if you are looking for good clean well kept rooms at a very reasonable price, you wont go far wrong with The Highwayman.

“Average. Worth what we paid”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

Myself and my boyfriend just stayed here for the one night, it was only £20.00 on late rooms and they were very accommodating, check in time is whenever as the front desk is open 24 hours and staff were very friendly but not overly sociable to the point it was intrusive. The room was quite basic but clean and fairly spacious. Easy to find. Ample parking. The reception isn't usually manned as I believe the receptionists also serve behind the bar as far as I can tell but they came straight over (the pub being right next door, about 4 metres away)

Definitely would recommend, no flash or frills, but very good for the price

“Really good value hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

We stayed at the Highwayman Dunstable at a cost of £23 per couple. Nothing wrong with the room, very clean and the staff were lovely. Bed linen immaculate!!! No, its not the Sheraton, but excellent value. I strongly recommend it.

Room Tip: You can request a better room if you want for a small cost.

“Glad I wasn't paying”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

I was booked in here by an organistion. I was glad I didn't have to pay for this. The room has seen better days; at least the bedding was clean but the towels had stains. The bathroom light was on as the string was broke. The towel rail was broken and the lino peeling. The cold tap on the bath didn't work. The walls were paper thin, I could hear my neighbour use his bathroom.
The food was extremely average, I asked for a rare steak and the one I got was like shoe leather.

Room Tip: Don't stay here
