This is an HI franchise operation, by some local Mexican operator. It shows.
The outside and the lobby are fine. But the room I had was dowdy, with makeshift repairs to the bathroom and plumbing. Open the faucet, and out comes 'water' — and the unmistakable smell of [---].

Then the fun started; I couldn't check out. Every time they tried to put through one of my credit cards, it came back 'Rejected'. I phoned both my banks; both confirmed that they had not rejected any payments - because they had not received any payment request. It took 30 minutes then, and a further hour later on, before they had to admit that their connection to the credit card centre was not working.
Overall, Reynosa is one the nastiest maquiladora towns I've seen. And this hotel did not improve things much.
