“Lovely and perfectly clean”

Everybody in La Casa en el Bosque went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Our cabin was spacious, quiet, surrounded by flowering plants and with a marvelous view of the town. Very tasteful Mexican decor and modern comfort details, like a small fridge, coffee maker, very hot water in the shower. Well-marked trails to walk in the woods, solar-heated pool, and a cooking area next to it with everything you need, from cooking oil to a microwave. We counted 15 hummingbirds one morning while having breakfast!

“A tranquil hideout only a stones throw from town”

I stayed at La Casa de los Arboles over Day of the Dead in 2008 and was the eco lodge's first guest. Although I had thought I wanted to be in town, it was actually far nicer to stay in the real countryside and to stroll or catch a collectivo into town whenever I wanted. The cabanas are very comfortable nd tastefully furnished and have stunning views. The Rodriguez family who run the resort are delightful and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend to other travellers.
