150 year old beautiful Quebec farm house with lovely quaint rooms, all with private bathrooms though not all en suite. Some rooms have a private patio some a view of the St Lawrence (you have to ask for this). It is a "get away from it all" type place - i.e. no TV in the room etc.. but all had hair dryers and were very clean. Breakfast was lovely and included fruit salad, juice, some home cooked banana breads and cakes, toast and some sort of cooked egg dish - diffferent one every day. At certain times of the year you can eat at the auberge and judging by the breakfast I expect it would be very nice. La Mansarde is in a quiet area located a 5 minute drive from shops and restaurants in La Malbaie, not really walkable as along a main road without pavement.
La Malbaie itself has a range of restaurants and we found some great ones in the Pointe-au-Pics area.
We found it a great place to explore Charlevoix area and it was under 1 hour to get to Baie St Catherine/Tadoussac for whale watching. I highly recommend this charming Auberge as long as you are not looking for all mod cons and are after tradional Quebec charm in a quiet place. The auberge owner is very friendly and chatty and will organize whale trip for you. One caveat: the owner speaks very little English so brush up on your French!!
