I had my surprise romantic birthday getaway with my girlfriend at the Southbay Guest house in Sudbury. It was a great place with our own private large bedroom, with nice ensuite bathroom with shower & jacuzzi tub. We had our own private sunroom off the large bedroom. The room had an A/C unit to keep me cool, & the bed was extra comfy.

In the morning we woke up & went to the kitchen for a fresh spread of fruit & yogurt. I had some of the best french toast ever cooked by the bed & breakfast host "Jose" who was a great conversationalist. My girlfriend & I had a great stay while at the Southbay Guest house, & would recommend it to any open minded travelers. Thanks again Jose!

We have stayed in B&B's before and hated them. This time was totally different. We were made to feel really welcome and the room and food was great.
The ferry is a 3 minute walk so we went and parked our car in line and them went back to the B&B for breakfast.
When the ferry came in we just walked 3 minutes back and got in our car.
We will be going back in September.

We've followed the Lonely Planet suggestion and we've spent two lovely days in Manitulin with the great support of Brenda, the fantastic host of Southbay Guesthouse.
We've enjoied the perfect and big breakfast full of fresh fruit and kindness.
We will be back sooner.

My Son and I stayed 1 night at Southbay Guest House after cycling from Vancouver Canada.
It was absolutely wonderfull !!!!

The owners are very pleasant, nice people!
Nancy, who works in the art shop is also very nice!

Frankie prepared us one of the best breakfasts we had on our entire trip!
The cottage we stayed in was very comfortable!

I plan on returning in the future with my wife.

I would recommend this stay to anyone.
